The stables would need room for paddocks and training yards, so it would be a pretty good size in and of itself. We could say the gymnasium is behind the school, and then the stables are behind that, and there are gardens on both sides of the main school complex? Idk.

I agree that making a map will actually make the roleplay easier later.

Main building is here /=========\
There’s a path leading out from the back right(bird’s eye view) of the building that either enters a walked off courtyard, or for simplicity’s sake enters straight into one since the courtyard is probably formed by the space between the main building and the gym. This path runs along the far right(birds eye again) side of the courtyard. Upon reaching the gym entrance, one either enters the gym or exits the courtyard to the left (bird’s eye right) through a door in the wall. There is probably a paddock there that can be used to prepare horses for joust in the courtyard. The path crosses the paddock and goes to the stables. There are more rodding and pasture grounds beyond the stables, but you kinda have to enter a monitored building to reach them.
I imagined the stables as a little behind the to the left (bird’s eye right) of the Gym. But honestly, it was very fuzzy because I was just trying to envision everything in a way that makes sense. You have free rein. đ

Okay. Maybe the gymnasium is a separate building in the center of the back gardens, then. We could integrate the gardens so they sort of surround the gymnasium (hedge bushes and paths and the like), and the tiltyard is walled off so the gym isnât spilling into the tended grounds. Plus the stables are there⌠somewhereâŚ

So at first I was thinking something like this. But the stables still need a place. It should probably be on the side somewhere so itâs accessible from the front and the back, as people come in from travel.
Thoughts? Is this actually practical or does something else make a lot more sense? Is this scribble legible?

That looks great! The archery range might need more space, but then that would only be for like, way more intense archery than the school probably wants to teach, so it makes sense. The stables and paddocks could even be to one side of the gymnasium OR the main stables could be farther out and there’s only a small stable and paddock near the gymn.

Okay good. If yâall want to decide where the stables and paddocks are, Iâll add them. :]
Also I donât want to be controlling how all this works. So if anyone wants to change this or thinks something works better, I really donât mind. Iâm not the person who makes the final say. Itâs entirely based on what your characters need.
