@princessfoo while your not trying to have God as evident as Gracie, I think perhaps @gracie-j can help you some with this! Not sure what genre your in, but she writes more historic fiction, and while she has God more evident, she may can help you because hers isn’t fantasy and so she can show you how to portray God realistically without making H…[Read more]

@princessfoo, I’m glad you like it. And thank you so much. Any and all cliches are welcome

@princessfoo, fantastic! Any genre works. I plan on making the narrator part of a guild of narrators but because he expects things to go according to cliches he keeps accidentally changing the story and telling the villain what to do and not to do. (e.g. the monologuing so that the protagonist knows the plan and escapes, only the narrator talks…[Read more]

Yes, that’s because my sibling *glares and breathes fire at said sibling* took my computer and DELETED PART OF THE CHAPTER. So I had to re-upload it after I already posted everything. Sorry about that. 🙁 And if you see part of chapter four on there as well, know that it is not all the way finished. I uploaded it and then saw a huge plot…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 @princessfoo @daughteroftheking @seekjustice
At the suggestion of @rochellaine, I downloaded and started reading She by H. Rider Haggard. It’s too early on to tell if it’s good or bad, but I’ll let you know what I think!

@princessfoo alrighty then, discuss away! 😉
I’m reading Bell Mountain, by Lee Duigon. here are some thoughts on it so far: the author uses omniscient POV, which I never liked. It feels a little distant. Also, I think the story could benefit from more description and worldbuilding.

@seekjustice @daughteroftheking @kaya-young @princessfoo @catwing @dekreel I was going to close the opening for voting on Monday, but how about we just close it now? We’ve got quite a few people now and everyone seems to have agreed on fantasy (and historical as our next one 🙂 ).
So how about we just begin discussing?

NC Stokes replied to the topic KP Book Club in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 5 months ago
@princessfoo Book 10! I’m surprised by how long it is.
@seekjustice @jenwriter17 I’ve got a historical I need to read too. I’m not sure how good it’ll be, but hey, at least I’ll probably learn something about writing. 😀 It was self-published, I think.

@jenwriter17 @princessfoo @daughteroftheking @dekreel @catwing
And guess what? I’m currently reading The Return of the King! I’m fine for fantasy (but please, please can we do historical next month????)
Also, just a suggestion. What if we were to read for the whole month and share what we learn as we go, but we don’t necessarily have to read t…[Read more]

@dekreel Great! 😀 we’ll be closing the voting on Monday I think, then start reading/discussing 🙂 You don’t have to read really fast, we’ll be pretty much going at our own pace and sharing what we learned from the authors.

@princessfoo @daughteroftheking Awesome, fantasy seems to be taking the lead 😉

@jenwriter17 @catwing @seekjustice @princessfoo
I vote fantasy as well, and no, it doesn’t have anything to do with the fact that my current read is fantasy too. 😛 (Ranger’s Apprentice yeaaaahhh!!)(also if this post shows up twice, don’t blame me. Blame the angry computer gnomes in my laptop.)

Jenna Terese replied to the topic KP Book Club in the forum General Writing Discussions 6 years, 5 months ago
@catwing @daughteroftheking @seekjustice @princessfoo Awesome! So what genre do you guys vote we start with?
I vote fantasy (and it has nothing to do with the fact that I’m reading a fantasy right now and I hate stopping books in the middle to read a different one 😛 ) My second option would be historical.
We’ll probably close the voting on…[Read more]
