Is that different? And I think so…
Colleges focus on undergraduate degrees (Associates and sometimes Bachelor) and certificates. Universities typically offer all of those plus Graduate degrees (Masters and PH.Ds).
College are smaller, so smaller class sizes (20 to 30 student), more personalized attention, a tighter-knit environment and greater access to faculty, but fewer degree program choices, extracurriculars and campus facilities (And facilities that are probably older).
University have a broader selection of majors, greater research opportunities, more extracurriculars, nicer campuses, strong alumni networks and often more career resources, but larger classes (Core classes can have 50+ students in them) and they are usually more expensive (You pay for the hot tub 😉)
I’ve talked to a person from there before and I don’t think they do transfers?
It is private though, and like 50,000 dollars a year…
That sounds accurate for a private universities. Some don’t like taking transfer students.🤷♂️
A community college’s tuition is typically around $4,000 to $18,000 a year. I work for a very cheap college, so when I attended I typically got money refunded from my Pell grant. (Got paid to go to college 🤣)
*Gasp*
I have fans! I have fans that will stalk me!!! Must hire an entourage of security guards!!!! Must buy a purple sequin suit!!!!!
👮😎👮
They have a 20% acceptance rate though.😭😭😭
I may end up taking a gap year and doing the same so I can earn some money and also more credits to hopefully increase my chances at a scholarship.
It sounds like you are going to a university?
Something you may want to consider, check and see if there are any community colleges around you. You can typically take your core classes (Math, English, Government, US History, etc.) for half the price of a university, especially if you are “in-district” (basically, you or your guardian(s) pay college taxes) which can cut the price in half again. (For example, at the community college where I work, an in district student would pay $90 per credit hr, out of district $169. At a state university 30 minutes away a TX resident would pay around $370 per credit hr, and a private university 15 minutes away ranges from $380 to $1,546 per credit hr)
Just remember to check and see if the university will accept/transfer in the community colleges credits.
Also, if someone/an office is really helpful, let them know that you are appreciative. They will likely be of help in the future, and doing something that makes you stand out (they do likely deal with hundreds of students) and makes them like you can be very beneficial if you have a problem down the road. (We remember and protect those who brought us cookies. 🤣)
I work at (and am writing this from) the front desk of a college’s registrar’s office (The unofficial helpdesk of the college). What Elishavet and Koshka is pretty dead on.
I will add first of all that. . . it’s rather confusing. 🤣
We (College Admission and Registrar folks) expect students to know very little about the process (even most employees at a college only understand their own areas well.) We are here for a reason, and will (hopefully) try our best to explain, direct, and advise you the best we can. As long as a student remains kind about it, we’re okay with them being/letting us know that they are overwhelmed, terrified, confused, shy, frustrated, etc. (We’ve helped and dealt with them all. 😉)
Write down the name of the people you speak to/that help you/you liked how they helped you.
Expect a lot of paperwork/online forms.
Early on memorize your Student ID#. (Unlike me 😁)
In class try to talk with the students sitting next to you within the first day or two. If you don’t you probably wont. And being on speaking terms, having someone that can clarify information, or empathize about last nights crazy homework assignment makes the class a lot more enjoyable.
Like Elishavet said, look at the website. Read through the pages. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is likely on there (Including outdated information 🙃).
A character who blocks/fills a hole/breech with themself. Over by dead body. You will have to go through me.
Does anybody have any characters like this? 😎
“Standing in the gap”
What a beautiful and evocative metaphor!
”O man, whoever you are and wherever you come from, for I know you will come, I am Cyrus who won the Persians their empire. Do not therefore begrudge me this little earth that covers my body.”
— Inscription on the Tomb of Cyrus the Great (c. 530 BCE)

Onnendel: “Mountain!?” Looks slightly bummed, then suddenly grins “I can only imagine 🎶. . .”
Randal: Clears throat “That is Silver Mountain. A hundred and thirty two years ago, four kings met at the top to form the Confederation of the Silver Swords . . .
Travenor: “That means we are approximately a quarter of the way to our destination.”
Dwogin: Wishes he could climb up it, or better yet. . . IN IT! 😁
Aenwest: “Wow! Google maps does not do it’s majesty justice!”
1) “in the midst of the stones of fire you walked.”
2) “It will be rather a bore, I expect. Love and marriage, and all that sort of thing, is rather a necessary nuisance in its way.”
3) “Blistering barnacles!”
4) “Be off with you, or I’ll blow up the barricade!”
5) “Soldier, why wear’st thou that glove in thy cap?”
6) If you tell stories, you like nothing so much as to tell them to people who want to listen.
7) “The probability lies in that direction”
8) “If you want to bless me you can bless my bottom, for it is sticking out of the hole.”
9) “Why, a stag is called a brocket until he is three years old, at four years he is a staggart; at five years a warrantable stag; and after five years he becomes a hart royal.”
10) “I don’t know who it is,” she said; “but somebody cares for me a little. I have a friend.
Welp, I know some of them.
2) Edmund from Prince Caspian
6) One of the Feechiefolk from The Secret of the Swamp King
9) Morley the cooper from Sir Kendrick and the Castle of Bel Lione
10) Screwtape from The Screwtape Letters
Oooo! Like the mech. The detail is amazing (and the shine on the metal is 👌)
(Also, with that spike, better hope that thing doesn’t use you/your car as a chair. 😬 😅)
