Ari
That was…oddly specific. And like nothing he’d heard of before.
If he didn’t already prefer having his eyes and tongue inside his head, being lost to his family was almost appealing. He shrugged.
“That sounds uncomfortable. So what are doing?”

Erp. If this was a generation or two later, you’d really freak him out. As it is…
Ari
His eyes narrowed, but in confusion not anger.
“Human?” He shook his head. Another word he didn’t quite know the meaning of. “Do you mean mortal, children of the cursed? Or just the dust born in general?”
And what did his creation heritage have to do…[Read more]

Ari
Moth disappeared through the roof in a last swirl of gold and dust. Silence settled in the shadows.
He hadn’t realized how much the bright younger boy had chased those shadows away. At least for a little while. Ari turned his back on the darkened room.
Time to break curfew. Again. The stairs creaked under his feet as he…[Read more]

If it helps, he does eventually figure things out and have a relatively happy life.
Ari
Squeamish? He hesitated a moment, considering what that was supposed to mean. He’d hunted and cleaned deer, helped in the stables, and patched up uncountable injuries of his own. He’d even helped burry a few of his father’s political enemies, as…[Read more]

Ari… Are you ok?
Eh….XD I’ll let you come to your own conclusions.
Ari
Collecting stories. He followed Moth’s gaze up to the hole in the roof. Here he was, sitting on another boy’s floor, talking about stories like they were something you could gather up in a box.
Maybe they were. Maybe you could.
“I suppose I wouldn’t mind. H…[Read more]

Ahhhhh it atenmy reply.
Ari
Adventures…in his world those usually included being tied up or locked in a closet. Or that’s what his brother’s called it. He had a feeling that wasn’t the type Moth was thinking about.
He licked the honey off his fingers, considering. Not much light filtered through the small square in the roof. Not…[Read more]

This fairie King liked asking questions.
“Well, I…” He paused. What was left? His half-brothers were good at everything that mattered–warriors, diplomats, judges– “Haven’t really thought about it. What do you like to do?”

Breaf and honey. His mouth curved up despite himself. He took the food.
“I don’t think so, or at least…”
At least, not compared to the legends of his dead cousins.
“… Not yet.”
His fingers burned at the remembered thrum of wood, sinew, and feather singing from shot and shot. He shoved a bite of bread into his mouth to…[Read more]

“Depends on how you define friends. There’s a fellow in archery that doesn’t seem to mind practicing with me.”
“People usually don’t stick around after our first meeting.” Although, he didn’t typically end up sitting on a student’s bedroom floor talking about family and friends. He studied the dust swirling around them.
How did he get here?

@ellette-giselle Good. =D
Ari
His mother? He sat down and folded his arms across his drawn up knees.
This boy didn’t know about his family. His chin came up a fraction. There would be no misinformation or preconceived motions to combat.

He looked back at Wolfgang. The boy’s eyes were so wide Wilhelm thought he could see his reflection.
“Ja. We’re friends.”

That was rather short. Here’s an extension:
Quiet had returned to his room, but the place was pleasantly rattled. Woven rush mats lay in scattered heaps across the floor. The table was closer to the wall than it had been before. Wilhelm stretched is arms over his head and sighed.
“My terms are easy enough. You shall hold the House of Kemp in…[Read more]

He crouched on his heels and finally let his grin out.
“Thine ears perchance.” He handed Wolfgang’s sword back. “But it was a good fight. I’ve never seen a style like yours.”

Oh my word. O.O
Ari
It was perfectly normal for people to walk up walls. Definitely. Ari’s unhinged mouth had nothing to do with it.
Definitely.
Black stars.
The window screeched open, letting in a want of misty night air. Ari managed to snap his mouth shut. Moth was talking again in his quiet way, crouched two feet over Ari’s…[Read more]

This place was old. Or maybe just forgotten. Words had never been his strong point.
It was also bare besides the coat of dust hanging around them, but Ari didn’t notice. His gaze was latched on the dim square of glass in the ceiling.
“Does it open?” He looked back at Moth. The boy had said something…ah.
“The floor’s a place…[Read more]

I’m going to try to respond. I have 3-5 hours left on this day’s work. My brain is pudding.
I have gone back and forth between options. Not sure which is better, but it’s about time it ended. Sword fights are usually resolved quickly. *dives into a martial arts lesson on sword disarming* *scrambles back breathless*

“I, err…” He brushed his hair back. Hang? Wasn’t that a form of execution? But no, the students here used it for something else. He had mentioned food. Ari nodded, the movement sending his hair back over his eyes. “Need someone beat up?”
