The reason God is exempt of being caused is that the only things that need a cause are things that began to exist, because eternal things logically could not have a cause.
Wwwelllllll…. yes and no depending on a whole lot of things. Something that is eternal could most defiantly have a cause. Can I clarify your definition of…[Read more]

I know!!! Words of Radiance was so good! I haven’t read Oathbringer yet, still need to get a copy from the library, but I’m so excited! Have you tried decoding chapter 84? I know it’s not individual letters, but what else?

I’m glad I can’t convince you😂 To still respond to your points though:
1. You play back the causality argument on the atheist, but they may say that there could still be something else. Yes, what caused, what caused, what caused, but saying “God” doesn’t remove that problem except to simply say it’s eternal and unknowable, which…[Read more]

Yeah, sorry, I’ve been off for a while, and I’m only now trying to catch up on everything, I’m currently trying to get myself to write N’nesha’s. I’ll get it done soon😁

Well said concerning the drunk. Many suggest that if you simply believe, then your good, because Jesus fulfilled the law of Moses. However, He didn’t fulfill it so that we could be lazy, it’s quite the opposite. He gave new commandments, commandments that work by higher laws. Matthew 22:36-39 says to Love the Lord your God with…[Read more]

That depends on how I’m feeling, would I play along, or would I point out the fallacy? Maybe both.
“If no cat has 2 tails, and all cats have one more tail than no cat, then do all cats have 3 tails?”
I would say that if it is indeed true that a ‘no cat’ as 2 tails, and it is true that a ‘cat’ has one more tail than a ‘no cat’, then a…[Read more]

“If no cat has 2 tails,” is the premise😄 Sometimes, I like to just ask silly and/or thought provoking questions in general, often making fun of something linguistical or mathematical.

A good thing to know when your worldbuilding is why your worldbuilding. In your case, I’m pretty sure it’s writing. So now, what kind of world do you want to create, hard, soft, somewhere in-between? Now once you’ve answered these, there is no one way to start worldbuilding. Whatever feels relevant to the story, go ahead and…[Read more]

Absolutely! As I said, there seems to be a lot of false evidence pushed, again, such as snapping an ape’s hip bone to look more like a human, therefore showing it’s early stage. I wouldn’t be so fast to shoot down some points though, such as bone structure, and genes, however it is greatly exaggerated, and again, can also point…[Read more]

Very true! The point that the atheist would make though is that though they still have the same problem, as everyone does, that doesn’t mean that it must therefore be God, as it could be explained by natural processes. They use the term “god of gaps” for this. Saying that anything we can’t currently explain doesn’t automatically…[Read more]

In my opinion, (don’t hate me for this!😄) when worldbuilding takes center stage it can read like a text book. I do appreciate worldbuilding and rigorously defined rules, especially the work that goes into them, but they’re not aspects I’m drawn to in a book. I still believe in keeping details consistent, but I’m a character driven…

Again, excellent points! I think I agree whole heartedly. Although, If God coexists with mathematics, is there a set of Axioms that defined His nature? This is more related to the other forum you created, but there’s still a whole lot to ponder in this regard. I think I must disagree that asking why Picasso didn’t…[Read more]

Fascinating point! Here I actually differ theologically concerning God being material, as I’m actually a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Regardless, the argument is interesting, however when you introduce the idea of a “concept”, you should probably define that a little more, because that’s really open…[Read more]

That sounds really cool! You made a forum for it right? I’ll have to check it out.
Exactly. However, you’ve still touched on something very interesting concerning the nature of math. The question of whether math was invented or discovered may seem obvious at first, and you and I can agree it is the latter, however, there is a…[Read more]

A late welcome to KP! I’m the ArcaneAxiom, I love math, finding divine fundamental truth, and exploring that in my writing. I’m also big on sci-fi/fantasy. I’m currently creating a multiverse with my sister (Princessachronicle) called the Septrum.

Ok, so I love this forum! Though I would like to challenge your original argument for God at the beginning of the forum. A learned atheist would likely point out that you’ve used a causality argument, which they would either say “god of gaps” or if they want to think a little more, they will ask “Who caused God”. You may say He…[Read more]

Interesting thought on hard worldbuilding. I prefer hard as well, but I don’t feel like that’s really a problem with soft worldbuilding if it’s done well. The problem with soft worldbuilding is when the writer gets lazy and lets the story contradict some aspect of worldbuilding established earlier. That might be what you…[Read more]
