So I have seen some of you guys talking about villians in The Chat Chat and it got me thinking.
What Makes A Good Villain?
So I personally have some opinions on this and I know this varies on who you are but I was just kind of wanting to collect input from across the Kingdom of Pen. So, (and not to sound to dramatic), Let discussion comminse!

Sorry for being a little late.
Rythin
Rythin watched his companions as the numbing flow of aether flowed through his veins. The aether was slowly dissipating and he was certainly glad he had chosen to use a relatively small amount.
Compared to the great beast in the center of the room Rythin was a shadow. A few of the girls greeted it as a…[Read more]

Ooh cool. I love crazy worldbuilding. I usually focus more on science and history in my world-building than math or language, however. I had actually considered a base twelve number system but got annoyed.
I am @folith-feolin‘s twin (as mentioned above). I like tabletop games, history, drama (the acting kind), and fantasy.…[Read more]

Yes. Rythin would be able to send thoughts or emotions to Anwyn but would be unable to receive them.
Anwyn not being able to verbally communicate with most of our characters will definitely be interesting. The whole Silence thing is definitely intriguing. I have always liked forgotten lore-type things in fantasies.

You are correct in assuming that Ziezhium has to do with using the lunar power. I recently changed my magic system to where anyone with enough training can use the aether. There are basically these certain substances that are made using each of the different aether types that gives you powers for a period of time when…[Read more]

Ok, so I know this is way after the due date but I had started it during the RP and had to take a bit of a break in the middle so I didn’t get the chance to finish until now.
Rythin:
Rythin silently crept down the book-lined hallway. Soon Rythin saw a light coming from a door at the end of the hallway. Shadows danced across the door light and…[Read more]

Rythin awoke to the feeling of a stiff crick in his neck. The cold floor upon which he lay meshed with the childhood feeling of a cold cobbled road. Rythin had always preferred sleeping on dirt roads.
He slowly opened one eye just enough for him to see his surroundings for signs of others. Yet the old library was quiet. At least Rythin suspected…[Read more]

High fantasy is basically the same as high sci-fi. The line dividing them is super thin. Ultimately there are a few main types of fantasies. There are the ones that have a high level of magic and mystical creatures and stuff like that. Examples of these would be stuff like @godlyfantasy12‘s WIP and LOTR. But not all fantasies have a b…[Read more]

Ok so this is a bit last minute but here are my Charries.
Simon Tredin (I just made this one for RP) (This is the self-insert):
Simon is a bookworm who enjoys reading fantasy books and playing hobby games. He knows a lot about history and is supposed to be more from real life. He is skinny and has longer brown hair (think something like…[Read more]

I will agree with @whalekeeper that organisation of your character sheets is personal preference. I also feel that while there are literary definitions for different types of characters, I personally feel classification can kind of be up to you because as authors we more need to determine the amount of character building necessary…[Read more]

Agree. This is the best philosophy.
I will say that since you already are planning a sequel series I would use foreshadowing in the first one. I have found this helps the ones I have seen be good. This is true with all series in my opinion.

???
Oh no. A sequel series that revives a character and builds a plot all around them. 🙂 (I am not sure if this is you (mostly just an assumption). I have seen this a bit (and seen it done badly). No lie I could go on and on about sequel series (maybe a thread on this could be good) (my biggest gripe is that they sometimes fail…[Read more]
