@gracie-j It’s a sci-fi/post-apocalyptic story about an… inventor? Engineer? Something along those lines. XD Who lives in a hangar in the middle of a wasteland and has just genetically engineered a dragon that will one day open a portal to an alternate dimension where the world can rebuild. Except… things happen, of course. XD

@abigail-m Ooh, very cool! Just be careful not to rush into publishing; I speak from experience, lol. But that’s an awesome goal! 🙂
Thank you! I’m very excited to get it finished and published. XD I’ll be sending it to a small group of readers in March, so I’m looking forward to getting some more outside feedback! I’ve been editing on my own and…[Read more]

@gracie-j *blushing* It’s just a collection of 60-80k word novels…not that much if you break it up.
But ay congrats on your own work, Grace! I don’t think I could write that long for a singular project!

@kathleenramm Ah thanks for the inspiring words! This is my first time venturing out into the publication world, so wish me luck 🙂

@abigail-m The Snow Warrior is a really interesting title! What’s the premise?

@kathleenramm Thank you! The blurb is this:
Dragon ink allows writers to set history in stone—or to change it.
Duyên Lai’s dreams are realized when she’s admitted into the ranks of the calligraphers, authors considered trustworthy enough to defend time from those who would change it. She’s thrilled at the opportunity to record her country’…

Awww, thanks! Your glittery pom-poms and motivational chocolate are making me even more determined to achieve my goals. *Shakes fist in new-found determaination*
Getting a publisher/agent and writing sequels is so cool! Have you published a book before or is this your first? My cartwheels are a little rusty, but I’ll be here to…[Read more]

@e-k-seaver Happy to help. 🙂
I chose it largely for the freedom it provides. In the beginning, especially freedom as far as a release timeline goes. I didn’t have to wait to hook an agent, which was important to me then as a young author wanting to get started and is important to me now as an author who wants to share my work without having to…[Read more]

Who is most likely to become internet famous?

R.M. Archer replied to the topic Self-publishing in the forum Publishing & Platform 5 years, 3 months ago
@e-k-seaver First of all, yay! Self-publishing is awesome. XD (So is traditional publishing, I just personally think self-publishing is more fun.)
Second… I feel like I need more specifics as to what info you’re looking for. I love answering questions about self-publishing, but there’s a lot to cover. If you want a place to start, though, I can…[Read more]

@imwritehere1920 Oh, that’s a thought! I originally wanted there to be a plot point with each of the kids in the class, but I suppose it might be better to have some of them be background furniture. I’ll have to think over this more; thanks for your input!

@joy-caroline Probably Adriane. Or Collin. Or Nahum. Or all of them. (Nahum because he doesn’t know how to use his phone, probably.)
Who’s most likely to stay inside all day?
Calloway.

@joy-caroline Mr. Anderson, Pryce’s dad, by accident invited his son’s “murderer” to dinner. So yes, there you have it.
Who would be most likely to forget their childhood friends?

I’ll start, I guess.
The Meadow of Spring
Behold what appears to be a fresh spring meadow, dotted with flowers. It’s a nice place to spend the day, though most don’t stay long, as after dark, it starts to feel cold…
Someone once said she saw spirits there, but no one believed her.
Some say that the trail of red flowers is left over from…[Read more]

Aight, I saw this idea on another forum and decided to steal it as well…with some changes, perhaps.
In the real world there are many famous landmarks, both manmade and natural, that have become iconic sights known the world over. There’s the great wall of China, the moai statues of Easter Island, the Grand Canyon, the pyramids of Egypt, and so…

The main thing is to have completely finished all of the edits on my novel Calligraphy Guild and be able to focus entirely on marketing it for several months before publishing it in the summer of next year.
I also would kind of like to publish at least one short story collection set in the same world, because I love this world and I need to get…[Read more]
