@gracie-j Ahaha thank you XD. I had good teachers. (I don’t know when twelve year olds started looking so tiny. They seem absolutely minute at this point.)

What is your biggest struggle as a writer? (Long rants welcome)
One of my biggest struggles as a writer is outlining. And more specifically, having so many different directions that I could take the story and not knowing which one to choose. I start off outlining, making cool ideas for the story, and everything is going dandy until… Well, I…[Read more] -

@leon-fleming I was told that the story was pretty much exactly like some show called Into the Woods. And the ideas were all from a prompt, so personally it didn’t feel very original, haha.
…I think this dare was of much less embarrassment for you than for the rest of us. Your writing sounds like something from 90 years ago. In a good way, of course.

@leon-fleming Ahaha thank you XD I might do that in the future after I’m done with all my current story ideas, but I feel that there are too many fairy tale retellings out there. That probably is Mr. Atkinson, judging by what came up when I Googled.
Did you happen to share yours here? I seem to have missed it.

@leon-fleming The enneagram is a personality type system. There are nine types, with various configurations (as evidenced by my long ramble, lol). It’s my personal favorite, since it seems to me the most accurate and helpful of those I’ve learned about.

XD! This is such a great idea. I have to concur with someone up there somewhere, though, in that my first drafts and inspo and everything was all on paper (notebooks), so that’d be a little odd. Thoughts? XP Love all of this, though, and I wish I had the time to go through and read all of them! 🙂

@gracie-j I think I was 12…yeah, I was twelve. That was the first thing I wrote in creative writing, for a school assignment, haha.
There was a meme I saw somewhere which went like this:
Me when reading my old writing from middle-school:

You guys know that I can write 300 word sentences, right?
Well, I’m not doing that right now. So for you, @e-k-seaver …
They ray of sunlight I latched onto pulled me up and away from there.

I’m not even going to look at it. Once glance has already told me that I had not learned about paragraphs yet.

@leon-fleming LOL. I think the snow globe was inspired by the trailer for the Barbie Nutcracker movie. XD (And then, of course, there are the characters ripped off from The Boxcar Children… and the following stories were rip-offs of Terry Brooks’ Landover books… XD XD)
Yours is really good for a first story! It’s definitely stilted in places,…[Read more]

@e-k-seaver See, I can’t bring myself to trust those things, because I’ve gotten convincingly different results every time. And last time I took it, I was 51/49 for everything except for intro/extra, which was 60/40.

Lin replied to the topic The Difference Between Different Types of Characters in the forum Characters 5 years, 8 months ago
@seekerofthetruth Hey there,
Main character/protagonist: Generally when writing stories you’ll write from this character’s viewpoint. There are exceptions, of course, like Gatsby from The Great Gatsby and Ahab from Moby Dick. But generally the protagonist of the story would be the narrator. Examples would be Percy Jackson from Percy Jackson an…[Read more]

@gracie-j Will do! 🙂 (I actually have a lot of enneagram blogging stuff planned for the semi-near future, lol.)
I’m instantly inclined to say 4. Maybe with a 3 wing. I can also maybe see 7? But I think probably 4. (And a 4 would integrate to 7, so it’s possible that’s where the 7 comes in. Or it could be in his tri-type.)

@gracie-j Oh dear… There are so many exclamation marks… XD
The last paragraph sounds like so many of my early stories. “Let’s make kids spies/royalty/etc! Clearly they’re perfectly qualified! :D”

@gracie-j At some point I’m planning on doing a blog series about what would motivate each of the types to go evil and, in contrast, what would make them an excellent hero. There are definitely those of all types who do good and who do evil. ;P I actually find it kind of interesting to see how each type’s different facets lend themselves to either…[Read more]

@leon-fleming I don’t have the first story I wrote (thank heavens), but I can point you to a whole document of my early stories (approximately story #3 and onward; they were all quite short) and ensuing snarky commentary from myself and friends. XD
Oh boy. I just looked at the document and it’s soooooo cringy… Seven-year-old me was rather…[Read more] -

@e-k-seaver All sorts, haha. Chill/trap/electronic, electro-swing, alternative rock, hard rock, sometimes heavy metal, piano/classical/instrumental, Vocaloid/anime, kpop, jpop, cpop…the list goes on and on.

@e-k-seaver Hmmm….my life is kinda bland. I wake up, study, sleep, repeat. Dabble in music, post web fiction, make piano covers sometimes, though currently I’m too swamped to do any of those things. I became a Christian at a young age, and I’ve been homeschooled for most of my school life. I spend too much time on the Internet and not enough…[Read more]
