@elfwing Nice! I love the thought you’ve put into this!

@godlyfantasy12 You’re looking at a person who worldbuilds as she writes. On the other hand, for maps I usually just draw them by hand. So I’m afraid I can’t be of much help, ahhh….

Lin replied to the topic Anyone else feel like all your story ideas are beyond your skill level? in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 11 months ago
@joy-caroline Mm….years ago, when I first started writing, I got a story idea. But it was on the deeper side, so I decided to let it sit and wait, and only just started writing it now. And I’m glad that I let it wait, even though I had really wanted to start it back then. So in the same way, I suggest you let this story idea sit and wait until…[Read more]

Great question! And one I personally don’t have the answer to. XD
However, my brother has been making fictional maps for years so he probably has some good advice. I’ll get back to you as soon as I ask him.

Yep! That’s how you put the green line there for quotes! Thanks Abigail!
Why do these sorta-kinda-almost work together? I bet there are even more interesting ways to organize each of the sentences into other interesting stories. XD

@kathleenramm Sure, sure. What did I write…uh…
Complete sentence, right.
“Oh? Then who will?”
Lowkey wish it was more interesting, haha…

I dare you to post the very last sentence you’ve wrote in a story with no context.
And no cheating!
I know it’s tempting to quickly write an eloquent sentence before participating but DON’T! Be 100% honest and post the very last sentence you wrote. (Unless there is anything inappropriate of course).
Okay, I’m going to tag some…[Read more]

Kathleen replied to the topic What's a tip or tactic that has helped you recently with writing? in the forum Topic of the Week 4 years, 11 months ago
That’s really smart! Because some weeks are so much different than others, so there’s no point to being disappointed that you didn’t write a much as some other week, especially if there is just so much going on.
I know right! I love that you don’t have to be fully committed to the long process of writing a full…[Read more]

@joy-caroline Yeah, I think they’re similar enough. They’re both part of the Christian genre, which I think is broader.

@kathleenramm Ah, short stories are really effective! I have a lot started but I don’t know how short or long they’re gonna be just yet…
Recently, I guess has been more of scheduling things and getting my priorities straight. For the past year I’ve just been falling behind on my writing schedule of 5 pgs a day and ending up having to cram…[Read more]

What’s a tip or tactic (small or large) that has helped you recently with your writing?
For me it’s short stories,Recently I’ve been writing at least one short story a month, and it’s really help me with so many things in my writing.
It’s helped me think up creative story ideas more easily, because I have to think of new ones all the time to…[Read more]

@gracie-j Glad I could help! Be warned, writing by hand has its disadvantages (namely, typing it all out again) but I do recommend it but as a distraction-free method!

@gracie-j Eyy, thanks for the tag! I’ll just answer your questions one by one.
1. Since I handwrite, my handwriting is so messy that I just ignore whatever I wrote beforehand. Also, writing with pen means I can’t edit or delete.
2. When I’m on computer I try not to do second drafts. Although, I will admit, sometimes I do need second drafts to…[Read more]

Word sprints might help. Just set a timer and go without stopping. I don’t know if you use Scrivener, but it has this really cool feature where when you go to full screen typing mode, it has a setting that will only let you see the line that you’re typing (or a couple behind) to stay focused. My drafts are messy, but I just tell myself…[Read more]
