Kate Flournoy replied to the topic To Blog or Not to Blog? in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 9 months ago
@That_Writer_Girl_99 a blog is a good idea for anyone who wants to get published. It’s not the only way to do it, but it’s a very good way and well-tested.
I don’t have much experience to draw from yet (mine still isn’t active) but I would say your schedule sounds very plausible and to go for it.
The one piece of advice I have to offer is…[Read more]

BWAHAHAHA!
@Emma-Flournoy @That_writer_Girl_99 WHAT WAS I JUST SAYING. DID I JUST SAY THAT? OR DID I JUST SAY THAT? 😛 😛 😛
Okay. I’m done.

*cowers* I stand corrected. That would be bad. XD

@Emma-Flournoy *amused smirk* Perhaps. Though I’m inclined to think you got more than your share of the practical side. XD

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Creature Question in the forum Fantasy 8 years, 9 months ago
@WarrioroftheRealm hmm… honestly, fantasy creatures are such a random hodge-podge of so many different things I wouldn’t worry too much about it, but I can see what you’re saying.
Umm… *scratches head* What about it right now makes it look like a missing link? Just the combined birdlike and reptilian features? If that’s a problem, you could…[Read more]

Yup, @Emma-Flournoy and I are sisters. Everyone thinks she’s older because she’s taller (*whispers* and more mature :”D) but I am the oldest, so… *shrugs**grins*

@RJK yeah… KP is just about swamped with INFPs. 😛 Tied for close second is INTJ, actually, and surprisingly most are women. INTJ women are supposed to be practically nonexistent. 😛
… how much of an MBTI nut are you? Because I’m pretty far gone… but I don’t wanna overwhelm you with random psychology dumps. XD

Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Hello! in the forum Start HERE 8 years, 9 months ago
@RJK hey! I’m an INFP too! Though I’m afraid no one in their right mind would ever mistake me for a Judger. XD
Let’s see, forum etiquette. *dons official ‘Director of Happiness’ robes* The only hard and fast rule is don’t tag more than ten people in one post, and then only relevant ones. Otherwise, general rules of Christian love. Not complicated. 😉

*runs in late and stands staring at the gobs of good advice*
I love you people.@DelightinLife personally, when I’m having plot issues it’s usually a problem with the protagonist. And when I come down to it, it’s usually because he hasn’t got any contradictions. He’s too predictable to do anything unexpected. Every character has something that…[Read more]

@RJK heyyyyy! Nice to ‘see’ you again. 😉 I see you found the introductory topics. *is glad she can give directions* XD
Wow… literally hundreds? *goggles* That’s… awesome? I hope you figure something out. 😛 I thought I had at least dozens, but I counted and came down to fifteen major ideas, so I was glad to find it a little more manageable.…[Read more]

@graciegirl I think a mixture of conscious and unconscious EiLs is fine because that’s the way people act in real life. Some people know exactly why they do something, and other people don’t. Given that, it’s actually probably preferable that you mix it up some, since that will give you more to work with as you continue to use these EiLs later on…[Read more]

Hey @Rjk! Glad you found us. I see you’ve preemptively shot down my normal first questions on what WIP/genre you write in. 😉 What are some of your favorite books?

@Mark-Kamibaya you know, I just might.
Oh great. Now I’ve committed. XD
Hmmm… that does sound like Chewbacca. One side of him, anyway. I suppose it could go either way, but I always felt that he was an extrovert.
But then, Han is a full-blown ESTP, so I guess they’d probably kill each other if they were identical. 😛 -

@Allison-grace Yeah, sorry–I’m one of the weird folks here who doesn’t have their tag matching their display name. =P Yep–being able to make up your own histories and cultures without having to get tons of books from the library to research is a huge plus. Right with you on that.

@Cloudy sorry I’ve been so long getting back! 😛 What @GracieGirl said; also in some places I felt that you jumped too quickly from deep, in the moment scenes to hurried overviews. To fix that, you should probably make lines for scene breaks, and make your deep in the moment scenes even deeper, while your overviews can either be shortened, or…[Read more]
