  • @gracie-j I’m not sure if I count because I only publish web fiction, haha. I really like this idea.

But in the case that web fiction does count…I’ve posted a short story and a novella on Webnovel so far, and am hoping to work on much longer works some time. You can read basically anything I write for free here….…[Read more]

  • @gracie-j Though, to be honest, sometimes I’ll pull out some of my more recent (better writing) and I’ll flip randomly to somewhere and start reading, and I actually kind of enjoy that. I usually have no memory of writing whatever it is, and then when a character says something it’ll make me laugh a little. Only the recent ones, though. The old…[Read more]

@princessmk My favorite subject would probably be literature. What about you?

  • Lin replied to the topic Hi, everyone in the forum Start HERE 5 years, 6 months ago

@princessmk I love chocolate chip cookies!

Oh, wow, I can’t believe I haven’t heard of any of these books. My favorites are: The Little Prince, Oliver Twist, East of Eden, My Sweet Orange Tree, Night on the Galactic Railroad, and Fahrenheit 451.

Are you homeschooled, by any chance? We have a lot of homeschoolers here (including myself) 🙂

@princessmk I mean the one you and your sister are writing together. That sounds cool; maybe I should ask my sister if she wants to work on a story together sometime.

What do you like to bake? And what are some of your favorite books?

  • @godlyfantasy12 Nice haha. I could never do that. I get super embarrassed reading my own stuff out loud, my parents prefer me to talk to them in Chinese, and I’m supposed to be studying most of the time anyway.

I really like the idea stage. It makes me want to write, but unfortunately things get in the way, so that when I actually get around to…[Read more]

  • @godlyfantasy12 That sounds like a great plan! It’s so helpful to have family members read through things; I have my sister do mine and she absolutely tears it apart, as all siblings should. She is not happy at the prospect of looking through 52 volumes of stuff. She’ll probably quit by then, tbh.

What’s your favorite point in the writing process?

  • Lin replied to the topic Hola! in the forum Start HERE 5 years, 6 months ago

@kathleenramm Yay! I’ll take a cookie any day!

@godlyfantasy12 I’ll take that tea to go with this cookie 🙂

  • @gracie-j (It’s because I tell myself I gotta do this before Jesus comes or I die. That’s how I manage to get through everything. Deadlines, scheduling, numbers…I feel like that’s one of the better things about myself.)

Anyway, quality vs quantity! Both are good, but really, the stuff I wrote at the beginning was trash. (And I don’t even want…[Read more]

  • @gracie-j Cool cool. I might stop soon as well.

So for whoever happens to venture here next:

Would your character rather be in the country or the city?

  • @godlyfantasy12 Ahaha I hate myself for what I make me do  but thank you. It’s nice to have a lot of writing practice. Makes way for bigger and better things.

Yo, I’m sure that the more you write, the better you get! It’s not all about the word count, but logging it sure does help!

  • @gracie-j Ahem. I feel like I owe an explanation, lol.

It’s not one book. If it was one book I would die. No, it’s 52 volumes divided into 13 series. I started out with the 13 series idea and then decided to keep adding volumes. But 52 is a bit too daunting, so maybe I’ll advertise it as 13 volumes XD.

  • @gracie-j Oh boy. Oh boy. That second one is, uh, a very tempting situation, but as of right now I can’t think of any pairings of hero/villain that aren’t two guys or related. Well, maybe for my other project, where I kinda ship my lawful evil with my chaotic good…

Like, I’m sure that most of my characters are prepared to be rejected by their…[Read more]

  • @kathleenramm Recently I was looking at a really pretty piece of art and I wanted to write a story off of it but I couldn’t think of one so I set it as my desktop wallpaper and then last week I woke up in the middle of the night with an epiphany of the story I wanted to tell…

But art, watching movies, and listening to music are all probably…[Read more]

  • @gracie-j So far as I’ve calculated if I’m writing in a 200 pg wide ruled 8.5×11 inch notebook it usually ends up being maybe 60,000, 65,000? But since I’m switching to college ruled next year I can probably get more in, so…maybe over 70,000. Thirteen Ways is currently calculated as going to have over 3 million words, and Mafia is probably g…[Read more]

  • @gracie-j Both those options sound quite horrendous. I don’t recall if I’ve ever made any character of mine take a bath before either. Hmm, I wonder if they do… Your questions make me add to my world-building. Thank you.

Anyway, probably coffee. It’s hot, anyway. Also Rolo would sell his soul for coffee. Well, maybe not his soul. But…[Read more]

  • @gracie-j Whoa, those are historical novels that I’d read.

I might have given synopsizes for my things, maybe not. But here goes nothing. (I’ll make up new stuff as the old ones are outdated. Let’s see how well I can do when put on the spot.)

    Thirteen Ways to Infinity:

Magic Users. The most blessed and most cursed of all those created…blessed…[Read more]

  • @gracie-j James would babysit two kids, Christopher would rather housesit for a hoarder, Ghost would rather change her full name.

Would your character rather be best at balancing a spoon on their nose or the best at high opera singing?

  • Lin replied to the topic Hi, everyone in the forum Start HERE 5 years, 6 months ago

@princessmk Aw, he’s really cute! I hope you have a great time together.

I used to write a lot of poetry, but I haven’t really found any inspiration nowadays…mainly sticking to song lyrics now. Do you like free-verse or any special format?

Ooh, a magic elevator! I really like the sound of that. The world sounds really interesting, too. I also…[Read more]

  • @gh24682468999 Let’s see…tips…I’ve tried doing NaNo once or twice before last time, but always failed. You gotta make yourself and sit and finish the word count every day, otherwise you fall behind really easily. I stayed up a lot at night trying to finish. Also utilize your weekends and free time. Don’t worry about plot/grammar/characters.…[Read more]
