@northerner *stunned stare* What would ever make you guess it was me? 😉
And yes, by all means, I’d love to see if your friend has any ideas. I might just drop the acronym idea if I can’t think of anything, but I want to try to get a name if I can…

One more question. I’m considering calling this UNITY, but I’m not sure what the acronym should stand for. Any ideas? Or of a different acronym or name?

Guys, I think I figured it out! What if the government was giving everyone some tiny tracking device? It is supposed to be able to protect people so that in the case of capture or kidnapping, they can be found. It probably has other advantages, such as monitoring your health, calling for help in one collapses, an easy identification, ability to…[Read more]

Welcome! @Aysia-Serene from the resident lurker who pops on and off the forum depending on how much time she has. But this is seriously the best Christian writers’ forum. It being the only Christian writers’ forum I’ve been on has nothing to do with that fact, of course. 😉

No ideas. None. My brain is empty. But I shall let you know if I come up with something. *nods*

Hello @Aysia-Serene! I’ve seen you hovering around the edges here— welcome aboard. 😀 So glad you finally decided to join us. 😉 I see a lot of fantasy in your author list— is that your favorite genre? It’s mine too, though it really depends on the quality of the story. 😉 Do you ever think you’ll branch out and try something new?
Welcome again!

I need help. I am working on a futuristic trilogy. In the first book, there is a rebellion. The rebels discover something the government is planning, and by exposing it they help start the rebellion. Whatever this thing is, it is something which will harm the rebels too, so the rebellion needs to start before it goes into effect. I currently have…[Read more]

And yes. This is the correct way to post a critique thingy. 😉 For the forum, at least. If you wanted an excerpt critiqued by the actual staff and posted on the home page, you’d have to submit it by email as stated in the submission guidelines.

@Abigail-Blomberg I really love the idea of taking the story from Joseph’s perspective, and I love the symbolism of a songbird you chose to represent their love. Great choice. There were only a few things I noticed that actually needed work— for one, you seem to randomly switch back and forth between past tense and present tense. That can be…[Read more]

@Winter-Rose yessss. All that. The theme definitely wouldn’t have been as powerful, nor the characters as dynamic, if it hadn’t ended the way it did.

@Rolena-Hatfield probably also in places where people of faith were suspected to be in high numbers gatherings over three or four could be prohibited. It’s possible too if you were suspected to be a Christian they could limit the number of ‘outreach’ devices or opportunities you were allowed to have. Basically try to isolate you, in a non-violent…[Read more]

@Daeus sackcloth may be a little extreme… XD
Good point. That’s true. -
Kate Flournoy replied to the topic Ghosts in Christian Literature in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 4 months ago
@Daeus no, you’re right. I agree. What I meant was I don’t understand it clearly enough to actually state for a certainty what it means, because as you pointed out there is information missing. Obviously it means what it says, but it didn’t give us the whole story, therefore there is that part of it I don’t understand.

@His-Instrument actually that does sound like it could be a powerful allegory, handled well. It’d need a lot of prayer and study of scripture of course, but that’s not difficult.
And that verse has always puzzled me as well. For me, it’s one of those mysteries that doesn’t really need explaining. Something God knows, but didn’t spell out for me,…[Read more]
