Reedsy looks like an interesting tool. I will have to check it out. Thanks for sharing!

@highscribeofaetherium, @loopylin

I can’t really help because I just store everything inside of my head and I haven’t reached the point where I needed an external tool.

Ha! Organization? Who has time for that? I leave everything up to…

Thank you for your ideas. I am seeing a recurring theme here. Use a notebook/document, and jot down the little things as they come up. Unfortunately, I am not a notetaker, but perhaps it is time I power through that and jot things down. (Which is kind of funny, because my user/pen name here…[Read more]

I guess I have dug myself into a hole here. Now, by telling you the name of the series, you will receive major spoilers for it unless you happen to have already read it. Oh well…

This is the Five Kingdoms series by Brandon Mull. It is a fantasy series written for 9-12-year-olds about a boy named Cole who dives into a fantasy world…[Read more]

@whalekeeper,

Nice to meet you!

I will say, romance is not my area of interest and I have tried to avoid any romance in my books. (However, there are still two characters that I am suspicious would end up falling in love anyway.) However, that does not mean I have nothing to say to help you.

In the series I am currently reading, there is a…[Read more]

Hello Stephie, nice to meet you!

Your story sounds really good! I would love to read it someday.

Thank you! As I told Bridget/HighScribe, I will need beta readers once I am finished my second draft, and I will be asking for volunteers on here once I am ready. (Though that could be a ways away.)

Have you ever tried to catch a runaway…

You still need more creatures?????

SAY NO MORE. I have a bunch if you want them. I’ll make them pretty generalized so you can add/remove whatever features you want.

I should probably clarify a little more. I do have a set of rules I follow when coming up with these creatures.  I also do feel, since this is my book, that I should come up…[Read more]

Sorry, I failed to notice you returned my question about favourite quotes! Most quotes that come to mind are more humorous ones. Sometimes, I feel like the quote below sums up my life a little too much, but it’s funny, so I will use it.

“I think I got it, but just in case, tell me the whole thing all over again, I wasn’t…

Christmas. It’s Jesus’ birthday and the buildup to it so much fun. Also my siblings and I have a tradition where the oldest dresses up as his version of santa (for example, Marine Santa or Batman Santa) and gives the gifts out like that, and it is one of the best things ever lol. What about you?

I agree, Christmas is the best hol…[Read more]

Hello again @highscribeofaetherium!

The only non-Wingfeather book of Andrew Peterson’s I have read is Adorning the Dark. This book encouraged me to get through my first draft of TNPT.

Last-paging is the malicious act of flipping to the final pages of a story and reading them before you have read the rest of the book. Those who have attempted i…[Read more]

Hello @keilah-h,

Nice to meet you. Professional book reader, eh? How does one professionally read a book?

I dropped in here to comment on your half-human-half-animal creatures. They are awesome!!

Thank you! Including humans, there are thirteen races in total in the TNPT world. This means I still have seven slots open for suggestions if you have…[Read more]

Hello there, @arcticanimals!

You can call me Linus Smallprint. I am a Christian author, artist, and AFOL.

In answer to your questions for anyone:

1. Raspberry jello on graham cracker crust topped with whipped cream.
2. Green, like the shade used in this website’s header.
3. Fantasy.

And now some questions for you:

1. What book/movie can you…

Nice to meet you! Books outside of fantasy can be fun too and we need some Christian writers who can write for the historical-fiction and mystery audiences as well!

My favourite ice cream flavour would be Cookies and Cream.

What’s your favorite color?

I like shades of green similar to what is used in the header for this website.

If you were going to write an entirely original and new book, what would you create first: the world or the characters?

I usually start with characters. Characters feel a little more important to me than the world they are i…[Read more]

Thank you for the welcome @theshadow!

What season of the year is your favorite and why?

I like Fall best. The temperatures are just right. Not too hot and not too cold. It is not messy like spring. The bugs are gone. I like the colours of the leaves. The only downside for us Canadians is it only lasts a couple of weeks before all the leaves are…[Read more]

Thank you, I may be looking for beta readers when I finish my second draft, and has proven difficult to get my friends to read my first draft. I will keep you posted.
