@everyone
Ok guys, you have to check out this article.
It’s a guest post on @gracie-j ’s blog and it’s really good!! It kinda has to do with what we’re talking about… sort of… okay, I don’t know, but it’s really good anyway and y’all should read it! XD

Right! You have similar themes, you just don’t press into the theme as directly.
Yeah, that’s a good way to put it.
Now I feel like I probably write more emotion than most of y’all here😂
Which is not a bad thing! You write them really well 😊 And I feel like your books, at least what I’ve read of them, focus m…[Read more]

Y’all have made some really good points!! I like hearing all your thoughts on this topic. I honestly feel like there’s not a one-size-fits-all answer to the topics of preachiness and theme. They differ for each genre, each story, each author, and each plan God has for the authors and the…[Read more]

@whalekeeper I like the format, actually. It feels like spiraling, distracted thoughts. Probably wouldn’t work for many other characters other than Seb though lol

Ellie locked eyes with Sebastian and stared, her face expressionless. Then she kept staring. And kept staring.
Eddie rolled her eyes. Ellie always did this whenever she was t…[Read more]

Ahh I’m sorry I didn’t mean to stress you out at all! I just got excited because I love taking about philosophical stuff like this. This is why I typically try to keep my thoughts to myself, sorry
I didn’t feel attacked. I love hearing people’s opinions about this stuff. ❤️

Ok I’m jumping in here cuz this looks fun and my tiny brain is experiencing thoughts hi
@freed_and_redeemed @whalekeeper
(i understand if you write just for fun, but if you’re actually wanting to write for God, this is something more along those lines…)
Ok, so, I don’t think there’s a difference between a Christian writing for fun and writing f…[Read more]

Oh my, Freedom has denounced Marvel… O.O Nooo way, I never thought I’d live to see the day.
Anywhoozies 😆
I am hesitant to do this, but I’m going to combat some of what you said 😅
First of all, I never said we shouldn’t communicate truths in our stories. What I actually said a bit ago was that it is impossible not to…[Read more]

@keilah-h thanks!
hehe uhhh I was trying to respond to Whaley, but none of my posts were going through, so I just started goofing around. It’s from Alice Through the Looking Glass. I didn’t actually think that it would post 😅

@everyonesofar
I’ve read all your posts! Even though I can’t reply to them all because length – I agree that you can’t write something you don’t know already. You can still write an extroverted character if you’re introverted, but they’ll be a combo of extrovert behavior you already know and some of your own brain wanderings. Like the Loops/Dante…[Read more]

I have no idea if this format is going to look super dumb or not, but I’ve always wanted to mess with it, and Drama King gives me an opportunity XD

I feel like my humor comes naturally and it fits naturally in my stories (ok, not all the time. I have removed a few jokes that are just too cringe, lol), but not all stories need some level of humor. I think the reason humor comes through in my stories is because I’ve been told I’m a funny person (or cra…[Read more]

I love humor, and I love things that make me smile. I only write crazy sad scenes now and then, because like salt and pepper, food should be lightly seasoned with them. At least in my style. 🙃
Same. I think the rarity of sad scenes in a story makes them hit harder and mean more when they finally show up

You tagged me twice, so I guess I can’t ignore this lol
I don’t want to be too introspective, cuz that’s always a downward spiral for me, but here’s some half-baked thoughts.
I think I write stories to better understand the world and myself, I guess. Stories help me make connections, put things into categories and archety…[Read more]

“Got any fours?”
“No. Go fish.”
