Katherine replied to the topic Really struggling with opening chapters… in the forum Plotting 3 years, 7 months ago
@joy-caroline Yes, definitely! My opening chapters often feel flat. I write things that happen to the characters and that I think are important, only to figure out later that it wasn’t really important or added anything to the overall story. Sometimes my opening chapters drag on, and I decide that I need to move into the plot quicker or make the…[Read more]

I’ve done a bit of research on DID since my volunteer work had me deal with someone who has that, and a few things I remember that might be helpful:
– I would say that what your charrie has sounds like it. . . rather minorly, though.
– Switches tend to be very sudden, and whichever personality is “driving” at the moment may not want what the…[Read more]

‘Eyy, nice. 😉
For me. . . hmmm. I love my cheerfully sassy characters who may have gone through a lot but are just so adorable with the other charries
*cough cough* definition of Will *cough cough*. XD They’re great. -

Hey there, Arden! (That name is worthy of being a character’s. XD)
Welcome to KingdomPen! I’m newer to the forum, too, so I probably won’t be able to answer all that many questions, but at least we can stumble around being completely confused together. XP
What kind of characters do you like writing best?

@kathleenramm PLEASE I’ve been waiting for you guys to bring back your merch 😭 I was gonna buy some but then they were gonee
I think the old ones are good but also I would like to see new ones in there too! I personally like monotone designs, so basically black sweatshirts. If you have pretty pictures with small quotes or something like this one…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 I mean, I don’t know much about psychology but from my understanding DID can often start due to trauma, for example, if someone as a child is being abused they might imagine whatever is happening to them is happening to someone else, therefore creating another personality as they mature. Other than that, I know nothing, and I would…[Read more]

@freedomwriter76 Noice, noice. That looks great! (And I have multiple characters named Adrian because I am far too lazy to come up with new names, lol.)

@freedomwriter76 Hmm, probably Winter Soldier. Because the backstory between Bucky and Cap is just too good, heh.

@freedomwriter76 Noice, noice. I’ve seen the Captain America Trilogy, the two Dr. Strange movies, and Shang-Chi, and I think that’s it.

@freedomwriter76 I’ve only watched like 5 Marvel movies, heh. There’s so much media in it I’m scared to be committed.

Lin replied to the topic What do you love most about your current WIP? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 8 months ago
@kathleenramm Mm I think because when I was thinking up the project I was mainly focusing on the MC and his character arc, and decided only to make other characters that would be essential to the plot that the MC should meet. This way I don’t need to deal with extra underdeveloped characters that drag on to the plot and themes. Also the themes and…[Read more]

Really? XD I mean, that’s cool, because I do try to be intentional with my portrayals of romance, but I didn’t realize it was such a prominent characteristic of my writing, lol.
Unfortunately, I don’t have any recent (a.k.a. well-written) romantic short stories besides those I’ve published (Lost Girl, namely, though to be honest it’s a little…[Read more]

@freedomwriter76 Oo noice. My current favorite WIP is a scifi retelling of Cain and Abel mixed with the Parable of the Prodigal Son.
Noice, 27k words is a lot! You got this, I believe in you!
