Gotcha. Like I said, I just wanted to make sure that had been done first. If that’s not getting anywhere, then this does make good sense, and I hope the new site does well!

Maybe an obvious question–and I haven’t watched the whole presentation, yet, so I apologize if it was already covered–but why not just… put this “I’d be willing to moderate!” effort toward increasing the team of Kingdom Pen? Why not volunteer here instead of splitting the user-base, if there’s really loyalty toward Kingdom Pen and wanting to…[Read more]

Yay! I’m glad you’re enjoying it!
Can I ask what you’re pasting from? When I was copying and pasting from Gdocs, I always had to paste into a Word document in between or it would all paste into Scrivener in overlapping lines. 😛 Unfortunately, for some reason, Gdocs and Scrivener don’t seem to like to play nice.

R.M. Archer replied to the topic Anyone want to take a survey for an essay I'm writing? in the forum General Writing Discussions 10 months, 2 weeks ago
I filled out the survey. As a technical note, you may want to change the question about average phone use—either to take text input rather than a number only, or to be more specific (e.g. “how many hours do you spend on your phone on average per day“)—so that your data is more clear. I input the daily average hours my phone has tracked and…[Read more]

R.M. Archer replied to the topic How do you world build? in the forum General Writing Discussions 10 months, 3 weeks ago
I love to discuss worldbuilding! How I approach the worldbuilding process depends on the world. I have three main worlds I revisit, so I have three main processes, which I laid out in a blog post a few years ago.
There are certain factors that overlap among all of my worlds:
- I always have some core framework in mind–whether that’s a timeline…

I don’t know the answers to all of these questions simply because my experience doesn’t cover all of them, but I can say:
2. Yes. I actually keep my Scrivener files on an external drive so that I can easily switch between my desktop and laptop (both Windows computers), so I don’t need to move said files, but prior to that I did keep copies on…[Read more]

@elishavet-pidyon Thank you! I’m glad they were both helpful to you!
Aw, thanks! It’s good to be around! I can’t keep up much (it might help a little if I changed my KP email address so I get notifications to an email I check more regularly… though that wouldn’t help with the obstacle of busyness, lol), but I try to pop in when I have time and…[Read more]

We’ll see if KP lets me post the link or not, but I actually have a blog post all about how to approach the creation of allegorical/pseudo-allegorical religions!

@whalekeeper Oooh, I love this topic – thanks so much for starting it!
Honestly, I resonate a lot with what @trailblazer said about writing because you’re a storyteller. I’m the kind of person who’s been scribbling stories for as long as I can remember. I don’t think I ever sat down and went “I’m going to write a story because xyz” – I tell…[Read more]

Re-typing; let’s hope this works. XD@rae To be fair, I’m a big fan of protective characters, so I may be a wee bit biased. But I don’t think it’s the end of the world, for a few main reasons:
- It provides a subtle yet cohesive theme. Just having all of these characters with these motivations that drive them will add an extra layer of theme.

Oooh, this is a fascinating topic – thanks for starting it, @esther-c!
I honestly feel like story (at least for me) reflects redemption best when it dives deep into one aspect instead of trying to tell everything.
The gospel is the most beautiful story out there, but it has a lot of elements – a wicked people, a perfect king, redemption,…[Read more]

@savannah_grace2009 Ooooh, I 100% second @euodia-vision‘s recommendation to try out Crazy Writing Week (I haven’t heard the dates yet, but it should be sometime in January). And hey, I would absolutely love to see you inside the program. 😀 *bribes with cookies*

@overcomer This is gorgeous. <3 It pulled me in so much, and the atmosphere you set up is stunning.
My only real comment is that your transition about a fourth of the way through from longer to shorter lines felt a little bit awkward? You came out of it very well at the end, but going into it and shifting the cadence of the poem felt a bit…[Read more]
