I need help naming a spaceship in my story.
– Name it after a creature or plant to keep up the ecopunk nature-y aesthetic.
– It got its first name from the first trip it went on, where shenanigans ensued and the ship was heavily involved. Idk what that would look like.
How has everyone’s summers been?

🤭 I feel better now after digging through convoluted age-of-majority laws.
You could give them organs but make them all transparent or whatever.

@loopylin hmmmmm…
What’s its shape? Is there anything common or cool on its planet of origin?
fun fact, I have a spaceship in my stories which literally IS a rusty old camper (but with wings and a hyperdrive lol)

Check out this sick box camera I found. Made in the 20s. I can see upside down images through the lens and there’s a flash when I flip the shutter. I want to find some film and try it out, although the inside is warped.

Here’s a weird thing I realized while reading the portals story and I need to tell someone. Do you guys actually picture your characters’ faces in your minds while you write them to the point where you could recognize them if you met them irl?
No I can’t either.
I just looked it up, and apparently your brain can’t come up with faces on…[Read more]

“He gave the kids who had spoken to Viktor a cold look”
I want to see a book where when a character does that it actually makes ice start growing on the other person. Just something that comes to me when I see that phrase.

I’m good with that! It’s a fun group of expected differences and surprising similarities.
@loopylin That would be interesting. 😂 I have a feeling she fights rough.
I guess I should answer Hugo’s question, lol.

@loopylin @everyone
I don’t think I’m a very visual person either. I can imagine my family’s faces if I try… but not very well. And honestly, I rarely try to imagine what my characters look like as I’m writing. 😂😂 I guess it’s more about the words and emotions to me.

Hugo“Physical education. All the high school kids will be there.” Hugo waited until Viktor looked up from his desk again. He bent over so their faces were on the same level, and studied the other boy’s eyes. “Do people normally badger you like that?”

I have a very vivid imagination, to the point that I don’t ever want my books made into a movie, because the characters wouldn’t look like I imagined them. I have this problem with other books made into movies too. Characters are more vivid in my mind than real people.

@loopylin That’s interesting.
I can sort of think of my characters when I’m writing about them. If I focus really hard I might be able to make out a face or two. But usually they’re in my own art style, or whatever art style I’ve seen them in if they’re “borrowed” characters. They’re never hyper-realistic live action movie type. And imagining…[Read more]

That’s a very good question.
It depends. Some characters I see in flashes of movement/emotion, so their exact features can be unclear. Others I see so clearly it’s irritating because finding face claims becomes twice as hard.
Part of it depends on if I’ve drawn them before, and part of it just on how connected their personality is to…[Read more]

My characters tend to be blurry, yeah. Some more than others. If I’ve drawn the character before, then I’ll picture an version of the drawing, just in motion. A lot of the time I just picture the motion itself, abstract, or a roughly scratched drawing. Just realized I see 70% of my charries as animated, not real life. XD
Also because…[Read more]

I do not. I can see vague impressions and shapes, and I can know what their individual physical attributes are, but I can’t put them together into a face in my mind. It’s weird. Idk if it’s normal either.
I can picture the faces of people I know, though.

I need to think about the fear responses.
How long would your character survive the zombie apocalypse?
I’m tempted to say they’d all be fine since they don’t seem to have much in the way of brains…XD
Ryla would try to feed them baked goods instead of brains and would die.
Ardon would probably die trying to protect Ryla, but if he…[Read more]
