Definitely has a cool feeling. I like the things coming out of his back–I want to say they look like antlers. He also seems to have dimension. (I mean his character. I know nothing about art XD) He doesn’t look completely sinister, but there’s something about him that doesn’t sit quite right. You know what I mean?
I like it.

I think that Alan needed more time to grow in his faith. I know that as a “baby believer” I would not be strong enough to accept what Alan accepted. And I might not realise that Christ can be my strength. So…I loved the ending but maybe not so soon? On the other hand, it goes to show how powerful it can be when some…

Ah, Malan sounds better XD
I assume you mean characters like Thom it the recruitment officer at the beginning?
Yeah, minor characters he converses with. Although sometimes you pull it off quite well, other times it’s not so good.
Hmm. I might include some more in the final version. I’ll see what people think when I share book I…

*plays how to train your dragon theme song*
:]
By the way, did you read what I decided to do with my magic system? You were the one who was encouraging me to keep it the way it was the most. While I have made my choice and am going to stick with it, I am curious to see what you think.
I wanted to support that version of your…[Read more]

@linus-smallprint Well, technically, I wasn’t really shipping them that hard, but I did notice that they could be a couple and assumed it was intentional.
Honestly, it’s actually better this way, that you didn’t plan to have romance. That meant it came up naturally due to your character’s’ personalities and isn’t shoehorned into the plot. Y…[Read more]

OH OH OH I have an idea. Martha is always described as super timid, but she should have a dragon for a steed by the end of the series. That was her first fun interaction with Alan, talking about dragons.

And then with all you girls starting to root for them, I really considered letting it happen.
XD Count me neutral. I didn’t notice this potential ship on the first read-through, and I still feel like it’s not on my radar despite finding the quotes. This may be because I’m not big into romance, like you. (You can do whatever you w…[Read more]

@linus-smallprint Nope, shipping names are common in virtually every fandom community. Sometimes they’ll combine the names, and sometimes they’ll take words that have to do with the characters and use that instead.

I shall now answer the long overdue Feedback Questions.
Which character(s) did you find the most compelling/relatable/believable and why?
I actually really liked Martha. Being the eldest daughter, I could relate to her more than with other characters. I don’t really know why I found her so relatable, apart from that; usually…[Read more]

I’ve got no problems with the new idea. I didn’t really have many objections to the old one anyways. Besides, it seems more realistic that the narrator wouldn’t want to know too much about magic. And it makes it more up close and personal; the imagery of someone pulling you in and grabbing you, trying to get you to turn away…[Read more]

Hehe. It is good, but only if you don’t mind some crass humor now and then. And the episodes have to be taken in small doses.
I did not end up finishing the show. My siblings watched too far ahead of me, and the school year was starting. :’)

@linus-smallprint I like that idea. While I didn’t have too big of problems with the old one, this new one is a good trade-off and makes more sense to the storyline.

*facepalm* I just remembered I never filled out the feedback document. I’ll do that soon.
This seems like a good compromise. I intend to continue reading. Do you know when book 2 will be done?

of course, I haven’t read the changes yet, but from what I think I’m understanding you saying, this seems like a really good option. I’m definitely still going to be reading. (unless I end up hitting some snags with the new way you chose to do this, and then I’ll let you know if I need to stop.)
I’m really excited for book 2!…[Read more]

@linus-smallprint @whalekeeper yeah, for some reason most modern 2D animated cartoons really turn me off. IDK why, but the only 2D show I ever actually liked was a Tron-themed one that ran for only one season.
Those quotes are utterly hilarious though, more would be greatly appreciated lol
