The first stories I wrote were for a writing circle I was in when I was very little. I know I wrote an story about a pet bat which was named ‘Bat’, and one called ‘Pontoon Boat Catastrophe’, which I still have, actually. I posted it over a year ago in Sara’s ‘what’s the cringiest thing you’ve ever written forum’.
After…[Read more]

The first stories I remember writing were 2nd grade assignments. In one, this group of ducks, Helen, Joy, Valentine, and Lulu, were at home being babysat by this really cool babysitter (I think her name was Lila, and she was both a police officer and a princess) who was taking them out to go toilet paper people’s houses. I’d just found out that…[Read more]

Hey, here’s an idea. I have come across some lessons to help improve characters. There are five of them. What if we went through them together, both taking one or two characters that readers felt were flat (that would be Charles and Thom for me) and see what comes out of it? We could invite others to join as well. If we don’t lik…

Mateo
Mateo broke his gaze with Celarent to look at his little friend. He contemplated for a moment, then spoke, “Fine, but you,” he pointed at Celarent, “Better choose your words more carefully.”

XD The second one reminds me of a time at co-op when I mentioned I hadn’t liked a book because I couldn’t connect to the characters, and this one guy just looked at me and said “Because they’re fictional.” He must lead a sad life.

*gasps in relief and grabs his hand like a lifeline.* NO! Not at all! I’d love to!
(my life is a wreck this week, in case you haven’t noticed. 🤣)
We redecorated the neighborhood, so to speak.
That is amazing! This two have got an awesome relationship! I can’t wait to read their book!

Congratulations of the Book 3 progress! I can’t wait, even though
I haven’t been able to read Broken Shackles yet.My library couldn’t purchase it for some reason and I’m broke, BUT I’m trying to get a job and that’s one of the first things I’ll buy when I have money. 🙂 -

Rory
Rory drew in a slow breath as Leo turned off the flame. For a moment that awful scene had threatened to flash through his mind. Thankfully, he’d fought it back.
This time.
“There, all done. Now we let that cool and don’t let any kids sign their names in it like they did the pavem…[Read more] -

I have a lot of books laying around that I haven’t had time to read, so I planned to stay home from our library trip. But I love the library, so I decided to go and just sit there and read my current book. Lo and behold, I came home with 23 new books. I have no self control…

Oh my word! WHY CAN’T HE BE MY OLDER BROTHER!?!? I need a Leo!!😭😍
Rory
“I’ve done this plenty,” Leo said. “Maybe not on tile, but heaps of other stuff. Did it hanging off my ship once when we had an air leak out of atmosphere.”
Ship…. atmosphere. That meant a flying ship. An airplane.

Oh you’re not the one. It was more like you voiced what was already bothering me. I’m sorry if I made it seem like it was somehow your fault. 😌
Maybe God will use this book will encourage Christians to venture into dangerous places to share the gospel!
I’d like that. But even more, I wanted it to wake people up to the fact…[Read more]

Oh It’s not just @linus-smallprint. He just said a few things that have already been bothering me in the back of my mind. It’s this aggravating struggle to rewrite something and pull it out of the ditch of not-so-great writing and up to the level I have worked to achieve now.
It’s always been a story that’s been close to my heart,…[Read more]

Unless you have something exponentially more important, I’d say go for it.
Why? What reason do I have?
(not to sound dark or depressed. But is it truly worth it?)
