I did start the first How to Train Your Dragon book, but found that it was not for me (I think I was expecting something much more like the movies). I think I got a pretty good picture of your dragons now though. If you ever want any ideas on how to develop them further or come up with another fantasy race, let me know!

Yes indeed! The Hypersense (named for its hyper-enhanced senses even compared to other dragons) would live in Canada. There are several breeds, but the forest-dwelling Fallenleaf and icy Blizzard varieties would be the kind you’d most likely see.

Nothing wrong with it being a tad cliche, you just need to do it right. That being said, perhaps another idea is there could be something related to how the crystals came to be in the first place.
