Okay. That’s not the hat I had in mind. What I was thinking of is probably too modern for your book. I was picturing more of the hat that Kalmar wears in Wingfeather Season 1, because that was what came up when I searched ‘traditional working class cap’.
(Also, just so you know, I noticed that a lot of people tagged me…[Read more]

Okay. I guess that would also help bring not just the characters, but the world to life.
I guess I do have Alan scratching his elbow whenever he feels the guilt of having used magic. I’ll have to think of some for other characters. I feel Tyn and Eric would have some.
I should probably pay more…[Read more]

Alan is joining Stripe’s cause?
Yup
One question: What’s up with the names Cyrus, Anamynth, Iskyagus and Opitarus? Are these lyens? Kinda odd, because all the lyen names up to this point have been cat-related, and I can’t see any connections with these names.
Oh, I forgot to explain Cyrus’ name. When I introduced him, I couldn’t find…[Read more]

The long-awaited Chapter the 18th is here. Give me a couple more weeks, and you will get to read Chapter the 19th!
By the way, does anyone have any advice on writing things happening during a conversation? I need more things than ‘character1 looked at/glanced at/stared…[Read more]

That left-right one is cruel. I already can’t tell my left and right apart.
My book aimed at YA/Teens does not have any of those words in its title. How much do I have to pay?

Aaron walked over and picked up a brown hat made of corse fabric. It was a traditional working class cap, and Aaron had seen a few Ardentans were them.
I am curious what this hat looks like. Is this one of those flat hats, with a brim that goes over the eyes?
Oh Father, please give us hope, give us light in this darkness, water in…

Hello everyone,
I am currently busy with work/post-secondary school/being a Sunday school teacher/life, so I will not be here as much for a while. I am still trying to find time to write and will still pop on here to drop the occasional feedback when requested, but will have less time to participate in discussions/drawing challenges.
If you…[Read more]

That’s it? I wait for four days to get a response from anyone and I get one sentence! I am affronted! lol. XD
Yeah, this is a mix of me being busy/kingdom pen not letting me know that you have posted new stuff despite the fact you properly included my tag. Sorry.
If you post tomorrow, please know I may not comment on it until T…[Read more]

Well, that’s one way to get a job. I feared at first that the three guys were all being conscripted and sent off to war.

So do you think him calling an end to the meeting that day was wrong?
No. Aaron did not decide on more church services period. But I know the characters are going to try to hold another church service, and this was a possible solution that occurred to me for how they could continue to hold services with minimum conflict. If you…[Read more]

I almost wrote a fake scene where he did, just to see how you would react. But I didn’t have time. XD
Wow… I know it is the job of authors to torcher their readers, but that is mean.
Did it not come across that way?
Not really, sorry. I was under the impression that he had already accepted that he was staying in

What’s it with all these readers being eldest siblings? I should go check again with my siblings to see what they think of Martha. (My brother will probably try to tell me his suffering as the youngest is much worse, but whatever. I could maybe show some of his frustrations in Eric, even if Eric is not the youngest.)

Okay, I was right. Aaron did not leave Sabina (good lad). If you want it to be harder for the reader to see what is coming, Aaron will need to miss his family more and long to return to his homeland earlier on.

Oh yeah! Tyn does not like doing dishes, so Alan could be her hero, cleaning up after she finishes cooking something.

See my previous post.

I’ve read everything up until now and am patiently (read: impatiently) awaiting the next chapter.
I am aiming to release this by the 21st. Realised for the first part of the chapter I still needed to figure something out, but I am close to coming up with a solution, so I should be able to start working on in soon amid my assignments.

Thank you for mentioning that. I see your confusion. I might use Furr, since I don’t think I have used that as a name in this story. I also may add a sassy note from the narrator that will be something like the following:
(No, not Nehss as in the soldier we met earlier, this is a different Nesss. While spelling varies, it is a very…
