@sparrowhawke Ah, yes, ATLA and the animal-mashing. (TURTLEDUCKSSS) Oh, cool! Those are some good tips, I’ll definitely keep that in mind. 🙂
YOOOO that’s seriously so cool. I’m very interested in the celestials, I absolutely LOVE seraph-esque creatures. Tell me more about them? 😀 And what’s the aether element all about? I’m super interested in…[Read more]

@kathleenramm They can be. Thank you! Yeah, I feel the same way. The ending would be a complete FLOP if that didn’t happen. But with that ending, it’s so much more heartbreaking… I think I might actually cry while writing that one XD
EXACTLY. It’s so true. This is the reason why I HATE the deux ex machina trope!!!!!! The author is like “okay,…[Read more]

People said that I should use tree sap instead of tar and feathers.
Even though it was a fictional comedy, and I was like 8.
I’m still salty.

Yeah, I’m terribly late to this . . . .This is a really great topic and I love everyone’s advice!!! I needed some tips for making fantasy maps, so I’ll totally be checking out that website and book!!!
And those were very helpful tips @elfwing !!!! 🙂

@sparrowhawke Haha, yup. And knowing me, I’ll probably end up with ANOTHER trilogy in the mix at some point.
Thanks! I write mostly about faeries and humans, since those are the main two races in the book. But within the category of “faeries” there are elves, gnomes, dwarves, sprites, pixies, naiads, dryads, half-blood/hybrid faeries that are a…[Read more]

@calidris I don’t think so. Was it bad or good?

Kads replied to the topic Reading in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 8 months ago
@calidris Is tangerine a book? I’ve never heard of it.

Lin replied to the topic Reading in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 8 months ago
@elfwing I mean, I used to read bad books too lol. And then I started writing, and I didn’t read anything but manga and classics, so when I finally went around to reading other stuff again, I was more like, “what is this thing I’m reading.” I guess writing has trained me to look for mistakes more, and also one of my sister’s hobbies is roasting…[Read more]

@elfwing Nope… that’s never happened to me before! XD I have a tendency to slam down my book and yell at it whenever there are problems. XD
-
Lin replied to the topic Reading in the forum General Writing Discussions 4 years, 8 months ago
@elfwing Oh, for me, I’m the opposite. Problems always stick out to me, but usually I stay quiet about them because I feel like they aren’t something that the writer can change easily (like style, the overall plot, etc.) If it’s typos I will though.

@sparrowhawke *oh shoot i didn’t mean to type mana on the summary for THBoH XD it’s called aera, just clarifying 🙂
Also, aera IS NOT magic. It is power (for lack of a better word) granted to the faerie races by God so that they can protect themselves, heal, etc. It’s just their natural God-given defense like a porcupine has quills and a bear…[Read more]

@scripter-of-kingdoms
Yk, I don’t think I’ve shared much abt it O-O
Thank you for the interest.
My WIP is (so far) a three part book series about a world corrupted by confused and selfish people. These people have formed a civilization based around the concept of family separation to avoid any more wars inside the community, and around the planet.…[Read more]
I’m just reading though this now, and fsr it makes me laugh. It sounds just a little bit ridiculous on paper.
I have the first book in it’s fourth or third editing draft, so it’s nearly complete. The second book is in it’s second or third draft and the third is in it’s first, just past the idea stage.
Wow, no, this sounds AMAZING!!! I seriously think this is awesome!!! I love this plot. Can I know more about the characters????? I’m seriously intrigued now!!! And can I beta for you when it’s done (if you’re ok with that??) 😀
Sorry it took so long to respond.
Lol, if you won’t up and run at my writing style, you can read it anytime!
Have you done any character personalization charts? (Idk what they’re called officially.) Basically filling in a personality template for your OC.
Please, PLEASE don’t judge my character names too harshly, the main four characters were…[Read more]

I’ll send you a google docs then! (unless you’d prefer Word, which I have a copy on)
Either send me your email, or I’ll send you mine!
Lol, thank you for not judging my names. Also idk why I make nearly all my side characters more likeable than my protagonists, it just always ends up happening somehow XD
@anatra23 Sounds perfect (google docs would work better for me 😛) Haha, ofc. XD Yeah, same here! I’ve toooootally fallen in love with secondary characters multiple times. XD
I’ll send my email in a separate reply and then once you’ve seen it I’ll delete that reply if that’s ok with you. Just don’t want the whole wide internet knowing my email XD
