@inkling-for-christ, well, I would follow that advice, but I tend to get distracted easily.
Dashing? Ten? Is that all anyone ever has to say about him? What about the fact that he thinks he can get away with anything??? I really don’t like Ten.
SAM!!!!! I love Sam and Pippin. Did you know that in Tolkien’s mind Sam was the hero, not…bleh…Frodo?

Okay, so one of the books i’m currently working on is a retelling of Rumplestilzkin and Repunzel. In this story the repunzel character has to save Rumple, her father figure. So, while she is looking for him she meets 11 sisters. she joins them and they become the 12 dancing princesses. now, my dilema is coming up with names for the 12. I want them…[Read more]

@epicaddie2, I saw that your signature said you were the sort of official KP Ranger. Well, since seeing that my signature now makes it clear that I am the official KP Ranger. 🙂

@theacornman Thank you so much!
Are there certain common words Americans use that English would say differently?
How much should I make my character use these? Her parents were American, but she grew up in England.

I’m writing this story about super heroes which takes place in the US, but one of the main characters was raised in England (I’m thinking nearby Oxford but I’m not sure yet) for the majority of her childhood. My question is, how much slang/British English should she use, how much would be too much for any Brit reading it, and is there anyone who…[Read more]

Honestly? I’ve been in this situation before. It doesn’t get any easier and college (gasp!) just makes things worse.
My advice would be to limit your distractions and also to make an outline if you haven’t already. Write down what you know you want to include and focus on bridging the gap between those points. That helps you set and accom…[Read more]

@sam-kowal I know the types pretty well, ’cause I’ve looked up/read a bunch of stuff about ’em, and I have a sister (Kate-Flournoy) who spouts about it quite often. Guessing people’s types is one of my favorite occupations. 😀 MBTI (and psychology in general) is very cool stuff. And congratulations on being “I” leaning too. Get the best of both…[Read more]

Haha!! @Sam-Kowal After I read your post saying you’d go take an MBTI test and see what you were, I guessed you would be ENFJ. You don’t disappoint. 😀
I’m an ENFJ too, though with ISFJ tendencies. Though that probably doesn’t mean much to you since you only just took a test and don’t know much about MBTI. ;P It’s really cool, you should go read…[Read more]

Ah, but there’s no such thing as an “official KP Ranger” until Josiah makes it official. I can’t say that I’m official when I’m not! Maybe someday he’ll give me one of those label/tag things to make it official.
But, I believe, the rule is one Ranger to a kingdom. And there really isn’t much going on here so I don’t need any help 😉
Well, actually it’s one skirmish/battle one Ranger, not one kingdom one Ranger. After all, Araulen had 50 full fledged Rangers. And I guess I forgot to mention the official without official permission part…
I actually think it’s like… one Ranger per… not kingdom or battle, but like how kingdom’s are split into different parts.
One Ranger per region. Each one keeps watch on a baron’s land.
How about a compromise? Instead of having one “sort of official” and one “official” Ranger, we can both be “sort-of-official KP Rangers” since it’s not really…[Read more]
Also, in Dekreel’s new story, can I be the only Ranger? *strikes magnificent Ranger pose* I work alone! 😉
I suppose I can share…;)
And I’m gonna be a centaur, so no worries there.
Hey! You stole Mister Incredible’s line! LINE THIEF!!!!
Ooooh a centaur! Centaurs are awesome!!!
Yep, I’m a line thief… *grins* NO CAPES!
EDNA!!!
you’re a ranger, you wear a cape…well, cloak. but it hangs like a cape sometimes
You could say I’m in my *grins* Edna Mode.
True, true. I suppose it should just be “YES CAPES”
Nicely done
