It’s beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.
(Eh, point taken. I think I’ll just chuck the courtier on under the horse instead)

XD
Probably.
Leo
The kid was…off. Leo watched him shift his back to a wall and glance behind them. Nervous. Strange.
He settled a hand on his shoulder. The kid stuffed a start. Very nervous. Leo swiped his key card over a electronic doorknob and pulled Rory into an employee exit hall after him.
It was quiet in here, the only sounds coming from the whirring air-conditioner and faint echos of the school around them. Yellow paint peeled from the walls. A thin dusting of dirt had been tracked in and not sweeped out. These halls had seen better days.
“You good?”

Leo
Where he doesn’t have to kill anyone. Leo smiled half because of that interesting qualification, and half despite it. Rory seemed to be catching his balance again. Leo eased his grip on his arm.
“Sounds good to me.”
He held the door for Rory, then fell in step with him. They were going back to the church, the scene of the last fight he’s had with the Royal Creepers. His hand settled on top of the blowtorch still stuck in his belt.

Sypher
The little blue sprite plopped down on the grass with a happy sigh. The sun was bright in a wide open sky. The Puppy was fun to watch. He grinned.
Lady White Face–or had she said her name was Barnes?–was still up in a tree. She seemed content to watch them from there. Maybe she was a Wingless Pixie. She was kinda a lot tall though.
He shrugged. The Puppy was more fun to watch.

Leo
Not sure what…Leo looked up.
“A dream proffession? It’s what you wish or dream you could do for a job, since you don’t have to be a soldier now.” He straightened one of the pencils and tightened the wrap. “For instance, Silvia wants to be a research doctor someday.”
He tucked the end of the ace wrap back under itself, using a wire clasp a student had called a safety pin to keep it in place. It looked sturdy enough. He stood up and took Rory’s elbow to help him to his feet. He steadied him as best he could.
“So, what things do you like? What sounds interesting?”

(My apologies for this random post, but I’m psychoanalyzing myself over the above discussion)
Actually, I think what I do is pretty common, even if it’s a mildly more intense form. Colors are known to carry emotions that vary for different people. I’ve connected those colors in turn to other things that carry similar emotions. The personality thing may be a little weird, but I know other people who see letters and numbers as having personalities (and seeing inanimate objects as having personality is pretty common for people with my personality, apparently, or so Myers-Briggs says).
Even is I did confuse my dad by saying that the number 7 was a quiet and mildly dangerous guy with a hooded cloak and good intentions.

April 21, 2025 at 12:26 pm in reply to: Final book in the The Flames of Hope Saga: The Dawn Will Come #201919Oof, yeah no. I plum don’t like Victor Hugo’s writing, so I’m with you on that.
I don’t particularly enjoy heaven scenes either, but when an author takes a moment to show that God is actually with us down here, like when Aaron knew Jesus was so close and when the Maker talks to Janner at the Fane of Fire and felt the love of the Maker wrap around him at the end…that’s beautiful. It reminds us that even though we can’t see God, He’s very much active in this world He created. He’s God With Us, not a God that sets us in motion and sits back to watch us flounder through life.
It also reminds us of what Death actually is. It’s not something to fear (if you’re saved), but a door that must be passed through into life and light forever. It’s not an easy path to and through that door, but we don’t walk it alone.

I know, right? XD But I don’t think it’s synesthesia, because it’s not always consistent, and I don’t actually see the colors in my head unless I think about it.
Oof. I haven’t really tried to pin down what individual colors connect to. Lets see. It depends on the shade. In fact, shade is nearly more important than the color itself.
Ugh, emotions are hard to word. XD Especially when I’m usually using colors to describe them, not the other way around.
Darker red is warm and bold, comforting, but sometimes bittersweet. Reminds me of hot cocoa or tea. Like the older sibling of periwinkle or powder blue.
Bright red is flashy, happy, and easily excited.
Dull red is quiet and sullen, often tired. It has a serious temper. Not a favorite color.
And again, it’s wobbly, often affected by how I’m feeling at the time, or memories of the object.

Oh, it was a prediction that came from the general feel of the board, and the last book.
Oh, well thanks for straightening that out! I had considered it. 😂
*Bows* You’re welcome. Glad I could be of service.
Interesting. I would say a majority of my characters have “met Jesus” because of their salvation. Do you mean meet Him as a sort of character?
Eh, no? I meant that a character was either going to get saved, or killed, and at this point probably both. As for having a sort of God character interaction, I guess you already did in Aaron’s death, if you squint really hard and take the “sort of character” thing broadly. XD
But literally having a character die and meet God (not shown, probably more like in Screwtape Letters) could be a good conclusion. I guess that’s what Andrew Peterson did in a way.

Yes, I do too. XD (but I think it’s mainly that I’ve connected emotions and personalities with colors, so anything that carries an emotion or personality gets a color connected too. IDK, that’s just how it makes sense to me. It’s a bit too distant and wobbly a connection for me to say its synesthesia, but it’s been around for as long as I can remember.)
But I don’t think it’s hereditary, maybe just the way we were taught (having been homeschooled). Each of my siblings do this to a different degree/way, my twin and I being the most extreme (I don’t think my brother connects colors…?).

April 21, 2025 at 11:34 am in reply to: Final book in the The Flames of Hope Saga: The Dawn Will Come #2019011)There will be mob fights.
2)Nearly everyone we love will get hurt.
3)Leon and Jullian’s pasts will come back to haunt them.
4)There will not be a plane crash, or a nuclear war.
5)The journal will be continued.
6)Prepare for major fallout to begin from the Prince dying in the last book.
7)Someone is going to meet Jesus, whether through salvation or death. Probably both.

No, we don’t do infant baptism. We will baptize children who understand what baptism is ect. and want to be baptized (I was baptized at 6 years old for instance), but we don’t baptize infants. While a soul is the same size no matter the age, we believe baptism must be a choice just like the rest of salvation, a decision on the individual’s part made in faith. A baby can’t make that decision themselves.
We dedicate newborns but don’t baptize them.

That’s so wild. And awesome. You’ve never suspected?
We had a dinner conversation a bit back, where I found out that my siblings and mom all connect numbers and personalities/colors to some degree, while my dad was totally confused. XD

Ugh, y’all. I was listening to an audiobook version of The Guardian by Dee Henderson, and the reader’s voice got stuck in my head. Now whenever I read anything–and I mean literally anything–I hear it in this low, slightly gravely, male voice. Even my thoughts are getting half drawled.
The book was good. The reader I wish I could live without.

ALSO SHOOT! I ACCIDENTALLY SKIPPED Koshka’s REPLY!!!!!!!!! SORRY! I WILL GET TO IT AFTERWARD!
You’re fine. XD I’m obviously not excessively active on KP right now (Ellette and Whalekeeper are currently conducting my funeral, LOL).
KP’s also been giving me fits, so I’m giving you a heads up that I may be a while checking back here. Ahh, for the days before Wyoh had gained her infamous name, back when I was a young KeePer bumbling my way around…
