I completely missed the last bit of your question. I have actually! My first finished novel was about otters. It was sort of Redwall inspired, if you’ve heard of that series. Basically anthropomorphic otters.

Now I’m watching a BBC murder mystery, still in the blanket, eating lunch, and still pretending to work on my articles, which I am not 😀
Yes, puppies are very cute! At least to look at, I’m not a huge fan of puppies in real life (gasp). I think baby elephants are extraordinarily cute.

I definitely get you on the tired. I’m having a very tired day and just sitting curled up in blankets, procrastinating on my editing that needs to be done.
Oh that’s so cute! Everyone around here is having lambs and calves at the moment and it makes me so happy watching them frolicking around 🙂 🙂

@lewilliams Your second one sounds fantastic. If it ever comes out tell me. I’ll gladly read it.

You’re designs all look really good! If I think of anything funny writing-related, I’ll definitely tell you.

@emberlynn Ah, I see. Well, I’m not exactly sure what kind of content you would be sensitive to, haha, because Ghibli is essentially the Disney of Japan. I myself tend to lean towards seinen anime (for older males) because of the plot and stuff, but I also enjoy shoujo anime (for younger girls). In the latter category I would recommend Your lie in…[Read more]

@jenwriter17 Kinda unrelated but I just want to know what platform you’re using for your blog? It looks so cool!

@seekjustice I don’t remember if I’ve ever talked with you about my WIPs, but I’ve got two going for now:
1) My way-too-long thing about Magic Users and different worlds and stuff like that. Don’t really want to sum it up right now, but the arc I’m about to go into is about one summer by the ocean, including a strange cafe, mysterious…[Read more]

Since we’ve got so many new people on here, I thought it might be fun if we all got to know each other a little better by chatting about our WIPs (works in progress)!
To get us started, I have three novels I’m planning on drafting and I’m just trying to decide which one I write for NaNoWriMo. I don’t want to give too much away about them, but…[Read more]

@emberlynn Nice! If you ever want any series recommendations, just ask XD Your Name is a fantasy romance about a guy and a girl who switch bodies. I won’t say too much more, otherwise it’ll be spoiled.

@emberlynn Shinkai is actually a fan of Ghibli, haha. His movie “Children Who Chase Lost Voices” is by far the most similar one to theirs. But more often he makes fantasy romance movies, like “Your Name” and more recently, “Weathering With You”. If you haven’t watched Your Name yet I highly recommend it! It’s renowned for being a masterpiece of an…[Read more]

That’s good to hear!
I’ve been pretty good. Busy, definitely!
Aw, thank you! Yes, I had a lot of fun releasing all my pent up frustrations with the modern fiction writers 😛

Wow, that’s quite amazing! I very briefly considered becoming a forensic pathologist, but to be honest the 12+ years of study put me off, so I’ve decided to become an occupational therapist instead, which is definitely a career swing.
I got interested in it through dogs. I’m a dog trainer and I read a book on training cadaver dogs and using…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic Do you listen to music while you write? What kind of music do you listen to? in the forum Topic of the Week 5 years, 7 months ago
@kathleenramm I was actually just researching this topic for the KP article I’m writing and was just about to make a topic doing an unofficial survey on this very topic!
Personally, I love listening to music while writing. I’ve just been editing articles and I’m listening through the Prisoner of Azkaban soundtrack as we speak. John Williams, you…[Read more]

@kathleenramm I like to listen to music when doing anything. Helps me focus a lot.
Usually when I write I’ll put on whatever it is I’m into at the moment. Ranges a lot…
But more often than not I’ll open up my “Writing stuffs” playlist on Youtube, which consists of a lot of mixes, like chill, or trap, or chillstep, or swing…

Are you still working on Queen of Drama, Valtmy?

The French Revolution and World War One are really interesting periods to read about. As for me, I’m fascinated by Roman Britain, WW1, and the Golden Age of Piracy/Exploration (which reminds me @gracie-j your books sound awesome! My current WIP is based on the lives of William Dampier and Jeanne Baret, have you heard of them?)
And my…[Read more]

Nice idea! I also know a lot about forensic science, though specifically I know about forensic pathology and cadaver dogs and the role they play in (usually) murder cases. How did you get interested in it?
However, my true areas of knowledge are dogs and animal training/behaviour (I have nationally recognised Australian qualifications in…[Read more]

@emberlynn It wasn’t even that it was slow (I usually don’t mind slow things) it’s just with WWII and watching children suffering for a couple of hours…I couldn’t really stomach it. But, yeah, I could definitely talk about Studio Ghbili for hours. Have you watched any of Makoto Shinkai’s works?
