“I’m… Felicity. Sorry, but, what are you?” Felicity stared at Sniper and Soldier.

Soldier stared back at her, or at least, he was looking in her direction, his feathery tail lashing.

“Don’t do that,” I warned. “Staring into his eyes has a good chance of riling him up. Well, okay, it’s kinda hard to see where his eyes are under that helmet, but just don’t look him in the vaguely-eye-area. Remember the ‘Ornithiform’ I mentioned earlier? This is him. We call him Soldier.”

“Leave her alone, mate. There’s probably plenty of those freaky statues to kill instead.” Sniper shoved him away from my poor confused companion, before holding out his hand for a handshake. “My name’s Mick Mundy, although since my teammates are usin’ their class callsigns, you can call me Sniper. Looks like you’ve never seen a Statenian Argonite before.”

“He’s the last of his kind, as far as we know.” I explained. “Also my husband.”

“She was pretty lucky to find me, don’t ya think?” He smirked.

I rolled my eyes. “We don’t have time for you to tell that story right now.”

 

 

 

 

(I shifted the timeline of when they got pulled into this world so yeah, the two of them are a couple at this point.)

fan fiction in general needs better character couples and if I’m the one who has to write it, I’m gonna write it.

@theducktator Young (~6-7 thousand), but it’s cause there is scientific evidence that the Great Flood laid down a lot of the rock layers, “speeding up” the age data. Some are from before, but the majority of them are from during or afterward.

of course, that goes into the whole local or global thing. Personally I believe it had to be global as the Bible says a lot of things implying it covered all the land and all the hills and mountains+people and animals would’ve been able to escape to some other part of the world to avoid it, negating the judgment aspect. Also it would basically make God break his promise if he said he was never gonna flood the earth again and then we get a bunch of local floods every year. But at the same time, up until the Flood everything was one continent, so it’s kinda both I guess. But that wasn’t your topic lol

 

I can’t explain the whole young over old earth thing well though, there’s a ton of people that can do it better than me. Also a bunch of books.

Felicity followed me, confused. “What do you mean? Those were animal noises! Dangerous animal noises! Are your teammates a bunch of –”

We rounded a corner, and I finally saw them. Soldier angrily beat his wings over Sniper as the Argonite tried to hold  him back. I noticed a few broken stone statues around and realized the Ornithiform had come to the same initial conclusion as I did–that this was a magic trap set by his ex-friend.

Soldier noticed me and stopped struggling. “Oh, hey Huntress! Merasmus got you too? Sniper thinks that it wasn’t him, but I know he’s around here somewhere, hiding his cowardly tail from us!!”

Sniper sighed, stepping away from him, his tail lashing in annoyance. “It can’t be him, Solly. You know how much he likes showin’ off–we’d be fightin’ him already if this were his fault.” He looked up at me. “So ‘ere’s where you’ve been! I was lookin’ for ya when this big dumb bird decided to attack me, and we ended up in this place. Who’s yer companion?”

 

 

 

I’m sure you already know what they look like thanks to the multitude of times I’ve talked about these characters so I won’t post descriptions/images unless you decide it’s better off to have them.

@whalekeeper It was actually quite easy once I figured out what controls where. It’s just very tedious.

I did make a mistake once and have to redo all of Sniper’s arm movements. That didn’t take too long, but it did throw like an extra 15-20 minutes in.

I feel like I don’t consider much of my art to be mistakes these days though. The limit for me is “could do better” and “not as envisioned” most of the time.
