Thanks for the tag! In my opinion, you should have one character arc for each book. That doesn’t mean your character has to be perfect in that area after the story, but the arc should be resolved by the end as it’s more satisfying. I hope that helps!
@e-k-seaver! Lol! I don’t know how that happened. That’s funny.
Thank you for the tag @gracie-j! I just signed up. Can’t wait!
I second what @millenium said. Also, I don’t know if you’re doing this already, but if not you should think about setting a mailing list and having a sign up that’s easy for your website visitors to see. It probably doesn’t need its own page (unless you want it to have one) but make sure it’s at least on your Home page. 😄
June 26, 2021 at 9:02 pm in reply to: How did you come up with the idea for your current WIP? #101302A lot of times story ideas just pop into my head or are inspired by something I read or watch. But for the current book I’m outlining, I tried a method Abbie Emmons shared on her YouTube channel where she takes inspiration from a bunch of her favorite stories (it’s not copying) and I really liked it! Here’s the link to the video. 🙂
Well, the main characters are pretty morally gray, so it’s really interesting to see how they got to that point and the trauma they went through that eventually shaped their goals and decisions. It also makes the characters highly sympathetic and you feel like you have a connection with them. The author makes you feel really conflicted because you know some of the things they do aren’t exactly right but you understand the characters so well because of their backstories. It also brings up a lot of questions and thoughts in my mind about that kind of stuff. I hope that makes sense!
All the main characters in Six of Crows! Kaz an Inej especially. It’s really well done!
Hmmm, I’m not sure I can be very helpful. The only platform I have is my website/blog, which doesn’t have a large following, but I wish you good luck on your book’s release!
I plan on hybrid publishing, which means doing a mix of both. This is what my writing instructors and mentors recommend. I’ve heard you can make more money this way and still get the best of both worlds. Hope this helps!
That’s totally fine! Thank you!
Just a reminder everyone! Tomorrow is the last day to finish reading and submit the final forms. Thank you!
@gracie-j thank you so much!!
AND don’t forget to fill out this final form to cover your overall thoughts. Thank you!
Here is this week’s form.
@nova21 @scoutfinch180 @gracie-j
