Kayleigh Idea replied to the topic How do you continue a character arc in a series? in the forum Plotting 3 years, 5 months ago
Thanks for the tag! In my opinion, you should have one character arc for each book. That doesn’t mean your character has to be perfect in that area after the story, but the arc should be resolved by the end as it’s more satisfying. I hope that helps!

Kayleigh Idea replied to the topic I'M MAKING A WEBSITE!!! YAY! in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 6 months ago
I second what @millenium said. Also, I don’t know if you’re doing this already, but if not you should think about setting a mailing list and having a sign up that’s easy for your website visitors to see. It probably doesn’t need its own page (unless you want it to have one) but make sure it’s at least on your Home page. 😄

Kayleigh Idea replied to the topic How did you come up with the idea for your current WIP? in the forum General Writing Discussions 3 years, 6 months ago
A lot of times story ideas just pop into my head or are inspired by something I read or watch. But for the current book I’m outlining, I tried a method Abbie Emmons shared on her YouTube channel where she takes inspiration from a bunch of her favorite stories (it’s not copying) and I really liked it! Here’s the link to the video. 🙂

Kayleigh Idea replied to the topic What's your favorite Backstory? in the forum Topic of the Week 3 years, 6 months ago
Well, the main characters are pretty morally gray, so it’s really interesting to see how they got to that point and the trauma they went through that eventually shaped their goals and decisions. Hmmm, I’m not sure I can be very helpful. The only platform I have is my website/blog, which doesn’t have a large following, but I wish you good luck on your book’s release!

Kayleigh Idea replied to the topic Self publishing or traditional? in the forum Publishing & Platform 3 years, 6 months ago
I plan on hybrid publishing, which means doing a mix of both. This is what my writing instructors and mentors recommend. I’ve heard you can make more money this way and still get the best of both worlds. Hope this helps!
