@ClaireC Awesome story! I like it a lot. I really don’t know as much Australian history as I should. Now I have to find that poem and read it. 🙂

@ClaireC Actually, I’ve been doing pretty terribly too; today was the first day in a while that I was able to really focus and not get distracted (or fall asleep). I read the book of James. That’s such a great book; I had forgotten how much it covers.

Sarah Hoven replied to the topic Have you read…? in the forum Book Discussions 9 years, 8 months ago
@Christi-Eaton — I started the Mark of the Lion, but the violence was very graphic, so I was afraid the romance might also be too descriptive. Is it? I don’t trust myself to be able to handle that yet – when I’ve read adultish romance in the past it’s really caused me to struggle – but if it’s clean, I’d like to read it. The beginning was very…[Read more]

Fidelyon is more original than the others. I like it.

@Corissa-maiden-of-praise — Wow, what a way to wake up. 🙂 I remember once I dreamed I was climbing a mountain, and I slipped and twisted my ankle, and my ankle actually did twist and woke me up. It’s so funny when that happens. I haven’t heard of Solfiggietto; I’ll have to look it up. What is your friend’s video about? I know it seems silly…[Read more]

@Jess – Hey, I used to live on the Outer Banks! They are awesome. Have you been to the Cape Hatteras lighthouse yet?

Hi Corissa! I really like adventure books too; historical fiction and adventure are my favorite genres. What are some of your favorite books?
It’s neat that you play the piano! What is your favorite piece to play? Mine is probably Pachelbel’s Canon. And…what exactly is a nose flute?
Wow, you do have some crazy dreams. I love having adventurous…[Read more] -

@ClaireC How did you do today? I was only able to spend 2 hours, but it was the best quiet time I’ve had in a while. I’ve been working on actively talking to God, and not letting my mind drift and get distracted; and today I was finally able to do it, and it was awesome. (Terrible sentence structure, but oh well.) And I did do the Bible challenge…[Read more]

@Daeus – I haven’t been able to keep up, and I just realized that doing the Bible Challenge means I won’t be able to do this for a little while. I’m not sure when I’ll join back in. I’m sorry I haven’t been able to contribute more to this discussion.

@ClaireC – I’m sorry I’m so late. Wait, do you live in Australia? I think I’m a day ahead of you, because when you asked me to do the 24th with you, here it was already the night of the 24th. I’m not sure how that works, but I’m going to do it tomorrow if you want to do it with me.
If you like, I’ll keep you accountable to your 2 1/2 hours and…[Read more] -

I’m in! Is anyone else going to do it today? Also, speaking of accountability, I’ve recently committed to spend 2 1/2 hours a day alone with God, reading the Bible, and I missed it yesterday. If anybody wants to help me stay accountable to that, I’d appreciate it. 🙂

@Writefury and @Kate-Flournoy, I’m so sorry I missed your replies. I’ve been at summer camp. Thank you for outlining the episodes for me.

Since we are seeing Miss Morton through Watson’s eyes, even if she did have some small weakness he (and therefore, we) would probably be blind to it since he’s in love with her.

@bluejay– That sounds like fun. Where I am, it’s over 100 degrees. 🙂
@overcomer – I’ve only written a long short story, but what I learned probably applies to a novel, too. With my story, I had the basic outline in my head, so I sat down and tried to write it in order, starting from the beginning. I kept getting stuck on little things though,…[Read more] -
Sarah Hoven replied to the topic Capitalizing His Name in the forum General Writing Discussions 9 years, 9 months ago
If you’re capitalizing the pronouns of the Father and the Holy Spirit, then I think your readers might be a little confused if you don’t capitalize the Prince’s. And even though Jesus was human, He was also God at the same time, so I don’t think capitalizing them will compromise your message. But you know what will fit your story best; that’s just…[Read more]

I think it would be neat if you capitalized it. There’s nothing cheesy about that (in my humble opinion, anyway 🙂 ).

@Daeus As I was reading your comment about Holmes being a “cold, hard logician”, it occurred to me that through the series he often complains about life being dull and miserable, and maybe the author did that on purpose to show the result of being completely logical and emotionless. Holmes is brilliant, but he is a very unhappy person. I don’t…[Read more]
