(I tried posting this earlier today, and it might have gotten eaten by the forum. Hopefully, I’m not double posting it now!)
Greeting Kingdom Pen-ers! Or KeePers or Kapeefers or whatever it is that we call ourselves nowadays XD (Seriously, do we have an official title? I’m genuinely curious XD)
To be perfectly honest, I haven’t been on here in 3…[Read more]

Yes!! That would be fun.
Those are some very interesting lines. Scarlet sounds like quite the character.
Those lines are hilarious. They capture a child’s active mind so we’ll.
And please, cringy is understood. I can’t make myself read the entire three chapters from my first novel idea… And t…[Read more]

ty for the reminder!
Oh, I like these a lot. The personality really stands out.
These are quotes from a younger character of mine. But I wrote his character quite a while ago.
“Mr. Jeremy Sir, you must come with us.”
“Oh yea, the Ma’am said that unless you got back soon, the city would pare. Ooh, is that an owl? What’s his name?…

@karissa-chmil The Green Ember was great! And I totally get the “depends on the time in his character arc” thing. There are characters I only liked because I knew they’d turn good later. Otherwise I would’ve been like “That guy? Seriously?”

Thank you! Btw, I’ve been reading posts on the Author Conservatory blog tour, and saw that someone named Karissa had commented. Was that you?😊
Thank you! And thanks for commenting, it means a lot!

Trahia the Minstrel replied to the topic Mark of the Lion Series (Storytelling Vs. Writing) in the forum Book Discussions 2 years, 9 months ago
Eeeeeek! I love Mark of the Lion! It’s one of my favourite book series of all time, now, because of the ending of book 2. That ending … Ah.
I went around for 3 hours after with heartburn ranting about how amazing that ending was to anyone who’d listen.
But yes, I did notice the head-hopping myself, and found it really jarri…[Read more]

I just reread my response and realized it was pressent tense (English, *sigh*). My Dad went over to Spain for a several months to help a missionary family get settled, like close to twenty-five years ago, so something’s have probably changed. =] I have seen a bunch of pictures though, and seriously, those castles are beautiful.

Good. I won’t worry then. 🙂
Yeah, my writing style shifts between very wordy to rather sparse. Tain’t the best. Tweren’t the worst. XD
Hmm. I like my different series for their various reasons. The duology is the least worked out, so I’m only calling it a duology because I don’t know how much material it actually contains. I’m…[Read more]

Ok, sorry it’s taken a while for me to respond. Every time I’d sit down to write my reply, something (or most likely somebody) would call me away. Ugh!
Anyway, I’m back. (And it wasn’t too long of an absence)
Yes, they can be very stubborn, and thanks!
Oooh, a duology does sound fun. And that is really exciting! One of my series…[Read more]

Ooo, that would be awesome! My father has gone overseas as a missionary’s assistant, and I’m heard they’re beautiful.
So, my signature is sort of a joke. Literally translated it means: “I speak English. Glorify God!” (Or thank God as the context here implies).

Ugh, yes. That is one sad thing about being American; we never had much of a medieval age. Of course, we also never had Roman occupation so there is that. =]
Ah yes Emma. (How did I forget about her?) She does become a side MC in the last book. S. D. Smith did a good job with his characters.
Hmm, I think I would also like a…[Read more]

For writing, I prefer researching earlier centuries such as the 9th-15th. Once firearms enter the scene I lose much of my interest. However, I do like researching and recreating clothing from the Victorian age.
Helmer, Whitby, Harmony, and Wilfred. I do like the MCs, especially Heather, but some of those side characters are…[Read more]

Thanks! and no, I haven’t written a series or a novel for that matter (I have attempted novels but couldn’t get them to tell me their plots. Finally, I have found some more honest books. Hopefully.).
Have you written any series and/or novels?
Evren and L sound like fun characters! I once tried to base a character off myself, but…[Read more]

Hello, I am Koshka, a somewhat prolific, if cautious, devourer of books, historical enthusiast, and general homeschooler. I write Medieval Fantasy, sometimes historical fiction, and a smattering of poetry. I also like to draw (when I have time) and talk about books (if I can find someone to listen).
Ooo, I love…[Read more]

Oooh, the first draft will be done soon? That’s so exciting! (I hope to have two of mine plotted out by the end of this month. The first books in two separate series.)
Evren or L, you say? Those are fascinating names. What are these different reasons? (If it’s shareable. I understand if not.)

Imagine a girl somewhere between 14 – 18 years of age, somewhere between this world and a million others. Someone for whom “reality” is curiously like a mirror, reflecting a reality even more real and dangerous and beautiful than itself.
You might end up with me.
(Someone who loves the way you opened up your introduction.…[Read more]
