Well, I missed the whole party. Does anyone want to continue to write, or start to write? 🙂

@emma-flournoy, no there are more kids, the 5 are just going to be the main ones in the story. I’m coming up with ideas for all the kids that got abilities to meet each other. A shape shifter would be cool (maybe instead of electricity), and there was one in the Percy Jackson books. (2nd series, which I wouldn’t recommend. @julia-r) I’m thinking…[Read more]

@julia-r So you approve of shape-shifting? *wags eyebrows* Some readers don’t, but I’ve used it in one fantasy story so far. I’d love to do a dragon/person shapeshifter sometime, though that’s been done before in more than one place. My own shapeshifter was a bit…subtler. 😉
@Jess, well, everyone else has been asking plenty of valid questions,…[Read more]

@Jess, that sounds like a terribly wonderful idea about the inventor. I love it!!
And being a “let’s see how this goes” type of writer is great sometimes, because sometimes neater ideas come as you go, rather than all planned out. 🙂
And if I know what, tell you? Where the inventor is?
Haha, well that’s for you to find out, I guess. 😀So how l…[Read more]

@dragon-snapper, Characters. *the unicorn snorts in frustration* All of my ideas are being used!!! @julia-r (in characters, names, worlds, genres…) Well, I’ll just have to make mine better. Now about doing that…

@bluejay Shoot! One name in two kingdom series. I was thinking of a different series. My story is set in the future-like one hundred years. *Racks brain for different names* I originally liked Tess, but realized that was in the Kingdom series too.
@julia-r, I forgot to reply last time. of course you can read it, but let me get a few chapter…[Read more] -

@julia-r, @emma-flournoy, I liked Dalton too. Only thing is, I realized he is a minor character in the five kingdoms series. So hard to find names that aren’t taken. Hazel was in Percy Jackson. I might still use Dalton. ..

I haven’t read that, actually. I’ll have to check it out at the library next time I go. I love drawing and art, so thanks! 🙂
Being a dragon has it’s ups and downs, I guess… Dragons have a really hard time playing instruments, and drawing is really difficult at times. Flying is awesome though, and making campfires! I just love marshmallows!

I like your banging method @Jess. I’ll have to try it sometime 🙂
@Julia-R, I have a similar method to Jess actually, but with less banging and more staring into space ;P I try to think of what sounds I’m looking for and going from there. For example I named a desert land of mine Mindelvia, a iceland Galacialis, and an imaginary world Codash.…[Read more]

A little late, but better late than never, so welcome, @Julia-r *Grins* *waves* cliches are fun…well, making fun of them is fun. I do that on my blog occasionally with the ‘real story’ of what villains or heroes really think. But it’s easier to make fun of them than to actually apply it in writing. 😉

@julia-r, I tend to be a little more un-creative. I normally bang on my keyboard (gently) and rearrange the letters that appear. If I don’t like it, I repeat. I will sometimes take names that I like and add a few extra letters… For me, Rey went to Rayellon, and a jumble of letters turned into Medeisa. And for people names, I find numerous…[Read more]

@julia-r Writing competitions can be scary. I felt sick as we were driving over. But it is a great reward for all the hard work put into story writing.

I have got BIG news. (No I didn’t just get engaged.) I entered a writing competition a few months ago and the presentation for the prizes was last night. I had just moved out of the 14-18yrs, so I was against adults. *nervous gulp* But here are the results.
Adult short story – Anna’s Savanna – 1st place
Adult poetry – I’m proud to be Australian -…[Read more]-

You totally should @bluejay 🙂 Who knows I may have to use some of your stuff. I love quotes, and accidentally stumbling across good ones 🙂

@dragon-snapper Finding writing competitions is definitely hard. I only know one or two.
*grins* No worries. *takes one of the ice creams and sits licking it happily*-
@dragon-snapper For some reason your comment has disappeared. 🙁 Did you want to write a new one? 😉
-
*sniffs pitifully* It doesn’t like me!!! Wahhh!
Anyways, I said something about finding KP in my search for writing competitions, and Congratulations!-
@dragon-snapper I think it was partly my fault. Did you “reply” to the comment I sent to Hope. Cause I found a spelling error in my message, after you had posted, and so I deleted it and made a new message and it probably took yours too. You can go to you history if you wanted to find out what you said.

-
@sarah-h I was nervous. Extremely nervous. I only expected a highly commended. I will definitely let you read Chaos and The Drummer Boy. I shall send them to @spradlin for publishing. (Only with Chaos, it’s a series of stories which if you read number 3. (which this one is) it won’t make much sense. I shall have to send in 1 & 2.
