The mistake with spending so long in Lillen was that they had time to work out their differences and cooperate in a safe environment and now they are working together perfectly. That would be good in real life, but us not at all what we want here!

I’m honestly a bit bored of the action scenes too. Sometimes they’re cool, like the fight in the burning palace, and the fights between our characters were fun as well, but this one just feels bland to me. I have now finished the Emperor’s Soul. I actually really liked it! Forgery is a pretty cool magic system. The book was very different from what I’m used to from Sanderson.

I think Sanderson said you would have to “hack” the magic system to get AonDor to work off world.

I just finished Elantris. I don’t have much thought on the story at the moment, except that it was relatively mediocre. I feel like a lot of it has been done better in his later books. For instance, Raoden’s plot line was very similar to Kaladin’s in WoK, but I didn’t find Raoden as interesting of a character.

Wouldn’t presence make both phase though? It’s extra-dimensional space, but it’s still a directional vector, unless I’m thinking about your idea of in-between planes wrong. It could still be rationalized I guess even then, just having a restricted spatial influence, just like 3d spatial restriction.

It would be possible for Conversion to create a new form of Arcana if you knew what you were doing.
