Kathleen replied to the topic I discovered a great book series all of you should read!! in the forum Book Discussions 2 years ago
Nice! It was one of my favorite series growing up. But when I read them there were only three books in the series?
Huh, I guess the author decided to write a couple more because of their popularity. Are the last two books in the series worth reading?
Also, I’m quite curious, what would your ranking of the five books be?

Sure, girl! I’d LOVE to help you out if I’m able! (Conversational scenes are some of my favorite so I’m very excited!!!!) Anyway, the email you know of mine works great for me (I’d rather not put it here where everyone can see it, but if you don’t remember it, then I can share my author email instead.)

Issabelle Perry replied to the topic Pacing Problems – Help? in the forum General Writing Discussions 2 years, 3 months ago
So I might not be getting the problem *exactly* correct, but if you’re having a hard time with the pacing of your story, I’m gonna recommend to try plotting it out. Plotting doesn’t have to be all that complicated at all! Basically, there are certain major points that need to happen in every story besides just beginning, middle, and…[Read more]

Woah, how did you find it? There must have been some runaway link somewhere or something lol.
You didn’t miss it, you found it early! 😂 I’m still finishing up all the details of the shop, but the merch will be officially out very soon!

Ah historical fiction is one of my absolute FAVORITE genres, so I’m more than happy to provide a few recs. 🙂
Within These Lines by Stephanie Morrill. It’s a book set in the USA in World War II about the Japanese internment camps. It’s a really emotional and touching/moving story and I can’t recommend it…[Read more]

Heyy Keepers! It’s been a hot minute since I’ve been back here (secretly wondering if the font changed lol). Anyways, I was just laughing to myself about how random we writers are, especially when it comes to our search histories😂 For example, my top searches today (writing-related) were:
1) what happens to the orbital cortex when it’s damaged?…[Read more]

SeekJustice replied to the topic Harry Potter? in the forum Book Discussions 2 years, 4 months ago
I wasn’t allowed to read them until I was in my mid teens, because my mum felt the last few books were too adult for me as a kid. I liked them, but honestly don’t feel any connection to them. I feel there are a lot of better series, personally I prefer Percy Jackson and Rick Riordan’s other works!

Sounds like a fascinating story idea! I just don’t know that you can fit all that in one short story!

Katherine replied to the topic Really struggling with opening chapters… in the forum Plotting 2 years, 4 months ago
@joy-caroline Yes, definitely! My opening chapters often feel flat. I write things that happen to the characters and that I think are important, only to figure out later that it wasn’t really important or added anything to the overall story. Sometimes my opening chapters drag on, and I decide that I need to move into the plot quicker or make the…[Read more]

I’m a bit late to the party, but if I buy merch its always a hoodie, mug or notebook! Love the minimalist look, with maybe a sketch and a quote, or something like that.
I won’t be able to buy any merch, because shipping to over here is wildly expensive, so I’m sad about that. Good luck with it though!

SeekJustice replied to the topic Putting a Character where you live? XD in the forum Characters 2 years, 4 months ago
Only one! A dystopian novel I wrote is set in a futeristic version of the town where I live. I mean I really kind of destroyed my hometown and it was really quite fun.
