thank you for the kind words, Kathleen! John 14 is a wonderful idea. it’s hard to always remember that God is there, but what you said is so true. now that i think about it, songs are the main things that come on and remind me of the truth. “water under the bridge” is what my mom likes to say, when life is hard sometimes. thank…[Read more]

What’s an unexpected benefit you got from writing?
For me an unanticipated benefit from writing was becoming a more empathetic person. It seems kinda obvious now, but yeah, creating and writing people who are completely different from yourself really changes how you look at people.Having to put yourself in their mind and understand why they are…[Read more]

Yeah, I agree that a lot of portrayals of the Robin Hood justified stealing. However, now I’m really curious about the original story and if it actually does that. Did you read the original version? Because the theme of “is stealing ever justified” could be a really interesting topic to explore in a novel. As it could delve into both…[Read more]

That’s so cool that The Apostle’s Sister is going to be a trilogy!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀 I’m wishing you the best of luck as you work on it!!!!!!!!!!!!🍀
I’ve never written a trilogy before (mostly because I’ve never made it past book one, lol), so I probably don’t have any good advice. I have planned a series before, so the best thing I…[Read more]

Girl, I really just want to wrap you up in a big hug. I have a pretty good understanding of how you feel and it absolutely sucks. I’m sorry you’re having to deal with it.
I also have chronic health issues, though not covid related, and with them comes a lot of chronic pain and chronic fatigue, so I get you there. It’s really hard trying…[Read more]

Life and school can be so overwhelming. Sometimes if feels like there’s an heavy weight on your shoulders at all times and you can never catch a breath. And no, your post didn’t come off as complaining at all! It just isn’t realistic to never talk about things that aren’t so positive. It’s good to talk about what you are struggling with.…[Read more]

@kathleenramm it has to be the Elsie Densmore series.
For those of you who haven’t read it, it’s basically about this little orphan girl who is staying with her wealthy Southern grandparents in the 1800s. The girl is a Christian… or at least, the most perfect representation of legalistic Christianity I’ve ever seen. This girl refused to play…[Read more]

Ah, yeah, learning more about mythology and history can really change your perspective on things.
And as much as I like Narnia, I always lean towards Tolkien as well. I love his worldbuilding and writing style, and yeah like you said his originality when it comes to both mythology and story. So many people have tried to replicate it,…[Read more]

That’s kinda funny, because that’s the same opinion Tolkien had on Lewis’s work! Tolkien also didn’t like The Chronicles of Narnia very much because the mythology didn’t make sense.
Although I love The Chronicles of Narnia, I get why it wouldn’t settle right for some people. It does do a lot of crazy things with mythology that might…[Read more]

Despite not having read Ingleside (I have only read the first Anne of Green Gables book) I thoroughly related to your frustrations in your post.
One of my pet peeves in books are characters who makes dumb decisions simply for plot convenience. Don’t get me wrong, I’m totally fine with characters who make mistakes, but the…[Read more]

What’s a book that hasn’t aged well for you?( ie. a book you used to liked, but now after reading again and/ or looking back on it wasn’t that good.)
I found the answer to this pretty recently, as I pick up a random book to read before bed. It was the third book in the Ascendance Trilogy, The Shadow Throne, by Jennifer A. Neilson. The first…[Read more]

I’ve been enjoying everything I’ve read so far:) Like, I love in your second character article where you talk about temper and impatience, (it sparked up a new scene idea for my villain. Even though he is on the more nonchalant side of things, he still has anger blowups). And it was fun and relatable reading from your perspective on thi…[Read more]

Thank you! It’s great to be back around on KP:)
You said all that beautifully and I’ll never be able to stress it enough on how much of a relatable struggle it is. But that’s right, you have to write the story that you would want to pluck off your shelf and read. Or else, what’s the point? If you don’t enjoy writing it, the reader wo…[Read more] -

I know that I’m going love TAS. I already do:) But it will be so amazing to be able to actually hold it, the pages solid paper, print in black ink and- I get pretty sentimental about that sort of stuff too XD 🙂 It’ll be awesome.
Thank you! It’s great to be back:)

Oh, good! I always love explaining this, so a wolf biography is basically just that. A wolf biography is written by people who observe and record a wolf’s life or a part of that wolf’s life. Which I think is super cool since like you said, wolves get a bad rep a lot of the time. People always hear about them attacking people when rea…[Read more]
