Hey @xonos-darkgate! Glad to have you here with us. 🙂 In addition to what @rolena-hatfield said, I’d also point you to our ‘Start Here’ page, which explains what exactly we’re doing here: https://kingdompen.org/start-here/ Feel free to direct any questions you have toward myself or any other staff member though. 🙂
Who are some of your favorite authors?

@kate-flournoy *sigh* You take the crown. I’m going to go have an existential crisis.

@jessi-rae of course I am serious, I live by Yoda’s rule, “Do or do not, there is no try” I would never pretend that I have a passion for something just to make my otherwise boring life seem interesting.
@dragon-snapper Well as the chief of security you are doing a pretty poor job stopping me from overthrowing the kingdom of pen.

@Daeus distractions are a part of life. Deal with them. Nine times out of ten, life is more about discipline.

@kate-flournoy It’s just…how am I going to run a kingdom like this? *tragic face*
@dragon-snapper There’s something to that, definitely. I know writing gives me moments of great ecstasy, but nine times out of ten, writing is more about discipline. My point is, if you want a fun hobby, there are other hobbies that require much less asceticism.

@daeus I slightly disagree with that. We should right because it’s fun. But when we do it for a job, then we should right because it’s our job. I write because it’s fun.

@joy-schmidt I have a similar problem, except I think it really is more the case of what Kate said the first time. @kate-flournoy So your psychoanalysis was not in vain. 😉

@kate-flournoy Didn’t I just tell you I was busy being productive?
@joy-schmidt Ahem. Here are three thoughts.
Don’t write because writing’s fun, because it isn’t fun (at least, not in any lighthearted way). Write only because writing is serious.
There is more to a story than what you have planned for it. Write to discover your character’s…[Read more]

@Christi-eaton WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.
@cloudy Thanks! It’s a bit weird, I think, even for me, but it was what I came up with for ‘poison.’ It’s inspired by the first part of James 3. You use an ink quill?! That’s impressive. 😉 -
Cloudy replied to the topic Inktober in the forum Art 9 years ago
@epicaddie2 WOW! Harry Potter world! I use my quill as often as possible, and even more now that it’s inktober. But if it’s not inktober, maybe once or twice a week. I’m considering collecting nibs and different feathered quills.

Cloudy replied to the topic Inktober in the forum Art 9 years ago
@epicaddie2 I’m left handed too! It’s so annoying. I had to cut off the fuzzy things at the bottom of the feather and the base of the metal nib so I could actually have somewhat clean fingers when working with my quill.

@catwing great news!

@anne-of-lothlorien how’s your family and your baby sister?
@Dragon-snapper @clairec @indridrd and everyone else. I would love your prayers at the moment. Lately I’ve been trying to do too much and its been wearing me down. I feel so tired both physically and emotionally ( not…[Read more] - Load More
