@dekreel That is so me. 🙁
(Except for the coffee, of course. And music, instead of Pinterest. 🙂 )

I like to imagine that the purpose of my blog is to inform and educate the citizens of the Internet on new and interesting topics, as well as provide them with a short story and a few writing tips once in a while.
But, in all reality, I just wanted a place to share all the random stuff I was writing and stuffing in a drawer. And, also,…[Read more]

@sleepwalkingmk Oh yes! That discussion. 😀
Please someone say they agree with me about it! 🙂 Doesn’t the fact that Dekreel keeps protesting that she’s not a wolf seem to imply that she could be, but is trying to hide the fact? I mean, if she said it once, we’d all say “okay, sure, we won’t call you a wolf!” but she keeps bringing it up ag…[Read more]

@sleepwalkingmk Well, there are just as many genres of old movies as there are of new ones, so I first have to ask you: What genre are you looking for?
Because I could recommend dozens(and that’s a quite conservative estimate, 🙂 ) of old movies and TV shows in many different genres, so it’ll help to narrow it down. 😀
Yeah, it’s hard to tell…[Read more]

I’m so sorry, but I’ve been thinking and praying about this and have changed my mind. 🙁 I’m still not sure exactly what I believe is right so to be on the safe side I’d just like to stay as far away from trolls as possible. I’ve been remembering the verses that say “to him, it is a sin,” even if it isn’t to others, a…[Read more]

Someday, unfortunately NOT someday soon, I want to start a blog. But basically the only reason I want to right now is because a bunch of you guys are also doing it, and I want to join the bandwagon. And because, well, who wouldn’t want a website where they talked about themselves a lot??
So I was wondering if there are other better, less…[Read more]

I have a character for someone to draw! His name is Peder. He’s got well-groomed, wavy blond hair, blue eyes, a mischievous yet charming smile, and he’s tall and lanky. He wears steampunk attire — probably including a top hat, and perha…[Read more]

@sleepwalkingmk Yessss, you’ve seen Hidden Figures!! It’s been awhile since I’ve watched it, but I recall it being very good.
I KNOW! Honestly, why must nearly ALL adult movies be on the PG-13/R scale?! I agree.

@seekjustice Oh, haha! 😀 My parents told me, I’m sure, the first time I watched it, which was before I can remember. It was years later that I read the book, but I had always known the movie characters were based on real people.
You should definitely read the book! Maria has a great sense of humor, and a great style of writing.
I’ve got to…[Read more]

@seekjustice If you like the story and the setting you really should read the book the real Maria Von Trapp wrote. It’s called The Story of the Trapp Family Singers and is very good. The story is quite different from the movie, but I was able to enjoy both without complaining that one was better than the other.
Have you heard of it? (She wr…[Read more]

@dekreel Only what my brother has showed me. He’ll edit out parts that he thinks I shouldn’t see/hear by switching screens or muting the sound. I watch the older stuff on my own.
He’s showed me things like Short Circuit, (AMAZING!) Galaxy Quest, (Star Trek: TOS spoof. Hilarious.) and E.T. (for some reason I wasn’t able to fall asleep after…[Read more]

@dekreel I couldn’t remember how I did it, so I just found the description I gave @seekjustice
Copied and pasted:
The oldest brother of the seven gets married in the beginning, and his brothers decide they need wives too, but they don’t know how to woo the girls of the town since they’re rough backwoodsmen. Their big brother has been read…[Read more]

Maybe a little bit of the plot without HUGE spoilers
@seekjustice Or Do Re Mi!

@dekreel ;D What I’m doing is talking to a crazy person who’s up in the middle of the night just like me! And attempting to convince myself to do a little more writing, but getting distracted.
Okay, how many spoilers do you want? I can say it’s about a seven redhaired backwoodsmen who try to get wives for themselves…do you want more i…[Read more]

@rochellaine I don’t know… I have a writing spree…
What are you doing at three in the morning?? 😉
Thanks for the suggestions! And I don’t mind a deluge, HIT EM!
What’s Seven Wives for Seven Brothers about? It does sound funny

@dekreel What are you doing up at two o’clock in the morning?!
You’re asking for a deluge in that question! But I’ll keep it down and just recommend two or three. First an argument, though: @seekjustice will not recommend any musicals that are similar to the Sound of Music or The King and I. She thinks The Sound of Music is boring! 😮 So I’m a…[Read more]

@dekreel No, you’re not in trouble. 😀 What I meant was that I couldn’t unimagine you into a person like I could with Catwing because I don’t know you as a person.
@catwing All authors are a little bit abnormal, right? But does the fact that they’re all abnormal make their very abnormalness normal? There’s the question. 😀 (Brown hair was the…[Read more]

@rochellaine X’D YES! I am still here! Even though I shouldn’t be
Well, you were gone! Otherwise, I would have asked you! 😉
So what do you recommend?

Rochellaine replied to the topic Writers' Corner #14 in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 3 months ago
@dekreel On the small chance you are still here I am tagging you…and demanding how dare you ask Seekjustice for musical recommendations without asking me, too! 😀
@seekjustice Are you back yet?
That conversation actually startled me a bit, since I’d never talked “publicly” about my books before. I’ve told that one sister some of the plots a…[Read more]
