Snapper replied to the topic The Beginning of the Sequel in the forum Plotting 6 years, 9 months ago
I usually like to start my sequels (I’ve only started one sequel…sooo….) by focusing on a scene that actually entails the villain. What he’s after. Especially if you’re villain has already been introduced in the first book.
I also like to have some sort of initiative on the villain’s part. There’s something needing to be…[Read more]

Hi! Just some tips…
- If events that happened in the previous book are not important, then there is no need to cover them again. Just cover the main points.
- Please don’t have a “nothing happened” time jump between books. Your characters will not seem active if they just sat around for a couple of months/years.
- Weave in a…

@alia It’s an amazing book! It took a few reads to really grasp everything he says, but definitely worth the time!
@introvert_girl I’m not sure I do have a favorite cookie…anything homemade is scrumptious! My all time favorite character is Faramir from Lord of the Rings. He’s so humble and caring, yet still a strong leader. Jean Valjean from…[Read more]

Thanks! I think her hairstyle would be something practical and simple–a bun or a ponytail I think.

@introvert_girl I know it isn’t the most normal of names, but Nysa is a group of asteroids in the main belt and it sounds kinda pretty. 🙂
Some more normal names might be Esther, Ariel, Cordelia, Lyra, Maia, Nova (fun fact: my mom almost named my little sister Nova!), Astra, Dara, and Elanor.

@dekreel if you name a character Peri, I think Dot would be a cute last name. 😀 Maybe its too cheesey for your taste though.

Hopefully these are helpful. I love your new profile pic, by the way! 🙂

I created this topic to share all the funny and weird things that has happened to us being writers. Here’s a couple of my experiences….
I daydream while my mom and another mom-friend talk about their kids’ interests. I’m really not part of the conversation until my mom says, “My daughter writes books.”
Mom-Friend turns to me. “Oh really?…[Read more]

It is highly possible there is already a topic just like this… If so, SORRY!
First of all, I know the MBTI test is one of the main things here, and I really want to know more about what some of the letters mean. I remember what they stand for (Extrovert-Introvert, Sensing-Intuition, Thinking-Feeling, Prospecting-Judging), and I know what the…[Read more]

I’m making notes for characters in the KPA and I have some specific questions. If you don’t want to be in the KPA, you don’t have to answer these questions
For those of you who are new, I’m writing a story about us crazy people/creatures/aliens. It’s code named “KeePer Adventure,” or KPA

The short answer is I really am not a writer. (haha our kind has infiltrated)
the longer answer.. I think I know more about writing then the average reader, though not as much as a full on writer. I blame my older sister @introvert_girl haha. I care a lot about well written characters and love to learn about writing! Its such a cool…[Read more] -

@dekreel Well, I was gonna say about the same thing as @introvert_girl. K. M. Weiland’s books are AMAZING; Outlining Your Novel, Structuring Your Novel, and Creating Character Arc (they all have workbooks too, which I’m currently using)
