@catwing Ah, I thought it was something like that. 🙂
@seekjustice I don’t know how you can listen to music with words while you’re writing. I just get distracted listening to the lyrics and forget to write. 😛
By the way, how far did you get through Silent Night?

@seekjustice Hello! Still watching Les Mis? What version? Is it for SFI, or simply because you enjoy it? 😉
@catwing Hi! I’ve got a very vague idea of what plot bunnies are…people keep mentioning them, and I’ve never quite understood. Enlighten me? 😛

@f5a8c3e92 Heyyy, great to see you again!! I faintly remember you. 😉 We could always use more company.
Hold on. . . Isn’t Clara Oswald called “The Impossible Girl”? *smirks with amusement* That’s just great. XD Who is your favorite Doctor, by the way?
Congrats on finishing school! I’m excited for you! 😀 😀

@jenwriter17 You arrived just a little while before I did, then. 🙂 I’ve been meaning to mention this, but kept forgetting…my introductory post was submitted on January 4, 2018! 😀
@seekjustice @dekreel @valtmy @alia @everyone It’s been great meeting all of you, and counting you as friends. Even though it’s a bit disappointing that KP has b…[Read more]

@seekjustice You and @valtmy have covered my answer to the Mark of the Beast question, which was that as long as you could buy and sell by other means, it wasn’t the Mark. (I actually asked my brother, and that’s what he said… 😉 ) So, as you say, if it’s just used for identification, that would work fine.
But in response to your comment a…[Read more]

Yes, I think that will work. 😀
Haha… “speculations of American evangelists”? That is oddly specific. 😛
However, I do understand the mindset in the making these theories. I do believe that many of the political/social/technological/economic trends that are happening can be attributed to a giant conspiracy by the Devil. But my…[Read more]

Personally, I have no issue with the barcode thing because now I don’t think anyone can say with 100% certainty what exactly is and is not the Mark of the Beast that is being referred to in Revelation. I think there are two ways you can get around this issue:
#1: The Mark is supposed to be, if I remember correctly, either on the…[Read more]

I see. 😀
Reposting because my first post strangely disappeared…
I looked at @rochellaine‘s comments and just have a couple of things to add:
#1: I agree that you have to decide what names Jean/Chessy use when they think of themselves and each other and change the names accordingly when writing in their POVs but I think you are…[Read more]

Haha thanks. Unfortunately, if I do pursue editing as a career, I would not be able to pick and choose what projects I want to read as freely as I do now (since editing work will become a matter of putting food on the table) and I don’t think I can do that since I am so easily bored and frustrated by many types of stories and…[Read more]

@seekjustice I’m back!
I read your prologue, then read through the discussion you and @valtmy have been having. I like your conclusions. I only have two things to add. (that I’ve thought of so far… 😉 )
#1: If they changed their names, Chessy shouldn’t even know her father Jean’s real name as a teenager, should she? He has changed her na…[Read more]

Haha should I consider a career change as an editor? 😛
You’ve been helping me with QOD as well (even if I don’t think there’s been much to discuss so far thanks to how tediously slow my writing is) so I’m glad to return the favour whenever I can.

That sounds like a good idea.
I think you can have it such that this prologue depicts the second visit Jean makes to the store. So he first visits the store to check if there are available identities for him and Chessy to use and ‘reserves’ those identities (has to be a similar age, appearance has to be similar, father-daughter…[Read more]

One solution I can suggest is that instead of a completely new identity, Jean buys an existing identity for himself and Chessy so there’s an existing record already in the system. Maybe there is a real John and Charlotte Whitehall or something but they are dead and their deaths were not reported so the government is not aware of it…[Read more]

#4: I think my issue is that it’ll actually be really, really easy to find the new identity Jean is using unless literally every single government database storing identity information is compromised. Caderousse knows that Jean came here to get a new identity so she knows that a record change has been made. To identify the false…[Read more]

Hey, Kapeefers! I figure it’s about time I ask for a writing critique, so I’m going to go ahead and do that! I’ll give you a sample of a roleplay I’m doing for another community. There shouldn’t be too many confusing inside jokes and references and stuff so don’t worry. But please let me know if you’re confused anyway! It’s just over two pages…[Read more]

Yay, I think I like this prologue much better. It introduces the central conflict and immediately sillhows what the story will be a modern, futuristic retelling of Les Mis, which I think will be what a reader that picks up your book will be expecting.
A few points:
#1: Since the POV is meant to be omnescient, the shift in focus is…[Read more]
