@Daeus Sorry I didn’t respond until now. I was at a drama workshop all day. 🙂
I suggested Sign of Four because it was the only Sherlock Holmes novel haven’t read yet. However, if the people who haven’t read Sherlock Holmes think reading Sign of Four would be confusing as it isn’t the first novel in the series, then let’s read A Study in…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy I suppose that would be a possibility. Which would bring up questions? why wouldn’t he? Is it because he truly has lost all his family? Or has he cut himself off? Why would he do that? Is it because he’s trying to protect someone, or because of some past disagreement?
@hope The factory explosion would definitely be an option. But…[Read more]

@Hope believe it or not I hadn’t heard that one— I went and looked it up, and you’re right, it’s amazing. *sniff* So sad and nostalgic.

@gretald, Henty has some very good books, Top three (my opinion 🙂 ) “In Freedom’s Cause” ‘By Pike and Dike’ “The Cat of Bubastes.” “By Right of Conquest,” ‘Knight of the White Cross,’ “Lion of the North,” ‘Lion of St. Mark’ being very near competitors.
@rolena-hatfield, 29 more books? I might have miscounted then… I was only aware of four…[Read more]

@daeus I didn’t recall that verse so I google searched it and its Daniel 10 you must have been thinking about. (Good guess Kate!)
@hope I watched the first season of OUAT and then my dad got sick of it and made me watch another show. A ghost wearing a watch is a funny picture, but I think you’re right they wouldn’t be driven by…[Read more]

@Hope I really like Crowned Powerless. I don’t know; it just sounds fierce and final. 😉 And I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad thing if you have a title that is the same as another book’s title. As long as it fits the story. 🙂

Take all the time you need, @hope . Pick the one that clicks with your story and what you want the reader to expect from it. If you don’t love either of these then maybe you’ll think of one you do … probably when you’ve just turned out your light to go to bed and got into a comfortable spot.

@hope , Powerless Fate and Powerless Name are the only two out of the first list that really seem to make sense. I don’t think power is shattered, or powerless, though I suppose it could be crowned. 🙂
I prefer Powerless Crown to Crowned Powerless. The latter sounds kinda interesting, but then it gets a little confusing since it sounds…[Read more]

Hm, to be honest, I don’t particularly care for any of those. They just sound odd to say aloud. Except Crowned Powerless— I actually really like that one.
I’m afraid I still don’t have any genius suggestions. :/
Fallen Crown
Broken Crown
Crown of the Nameless
Worthless Crown
Crown of the Broken KingCrowned Powerless is growing on me though.

@hope thanks.
@overcomer no problem. Ooh an Epic!?! Good luck. I have only just reach novellettes so I still have a distance to go. 😉 Yes, long books are great, but I still fly through them in one day. Some in half a day.:)

Ah @kate-flournoy. Yes, I see your point.
@hannah-c Wow! I love it. Especially since they are in the sea. 🙂 That’s great. Thank so much.
@hope, that’s okay. 😉

I definitely agree with you on this. While I do think it is important to have backstories for characters, you can’t include them all. However, while you are developing characters, you do need to have some of their past figured out. For example, say you have a particularly bitter, melancholy character. Why is he or…[Read more] -

I think you could totally use it, @hope . There is a book I like called, “The Choosing: A Seer Novel.” There are other books already called “The Choosing” so the author added a definition/series thingy to hers. That makes it stand out. That’s one way to do it. Or you could just use the same title by itself. That can be rather tricky though…[Read more]
