Hannah A. Krynicki replied to the topic Reader Behavior Survey in the forum Publishing & Platform 7 years, 7 months ago
@daeus This is a fantastic idea, and thank you for spearheading it! Now I have two questions. 1: Can I announce this on my blog? My readership is predominantly bookworms and writers, so you can probably get a lot of survey-ees there, but I wanted to check before I announce this to the rest of cyberspace. 2: If so, are there any disclaimers or…[Read more]

Thank you @gretald! This is tremendously useful, especially those websites. Plus I now understand the British obsession with pudding. 🙂

@leumeister Yup, they’ve covered it! Version 1.1 is a huge improvement. I’d just add that if you want to use this as an e-book cover, you could probably make the text larger. Covers can be hard to read in a thumbnail Kindle library. Btw I love the textures and lighting; those were always the hardest bits for me when I dabbled in CGI. 🙂

No problem @gretald. It gave me time to make a list of things that have randomly popped up in my outlining. There will probably be more, but for now here is the first round of interrogation. Thanks for helping me out!

@bluejay Oh, I wish I could do this one- it’s one of my favorite books! But things are so busy and I’ve been so absent that I’ll have to sit out de jure this time.

@leumeister Sounds cool! I only learned to use basic shapes in Sculpt mode to make odd-looking aliens. 🙂 Maybe I’ll give it another try after college…

Hello! I think we have at least a few other Australians around here… Your novella sounds impressive! Do you have any other projects going right now?

Welcome! (Someone else will say the bestistest part, guaranteed.) What do you make in Blender? I tried it awhile ago but never got very good at it. 🙂

Thanks @gretald. I don’t know if you could answer my first one: how does the court system in England compare with the American one?

@sleepwalkingmk I love it! It was surprisingly sad, but then you made it all right in the end. 🙂

@kate-flournoy exactly. Maybe that has something to do with their Jeffersonian roots…

@sarah-h I’m not an expert, but I guess I’ll attempt to explain, and everyone else can chime in and correct me…. Libertarians are similar to anti-Federalists and isolationists. Their name literally comes from the word “liberty,” so they favor as little government intervention at home and abroad as possible, and they usually respect the Bill of…[Read more]

@daeus Yours actually describes me pretty well. Right now I’m a conservative independent who leans a bit libertarian.

That’s okay- I think I might have found some helpers anyway. Maybe we should start a forum for locating the beta-readers for particular WIPs. Is that a thing yet?

@gretald Really? That would be perfect! Can you ask them if they’d be willing to suffer interrogation by a slightly weird American?

@corissa-maiden-of-praise You know what, Scotland might be close enough- isn’t it technically under British rule? ! I’ll tag a few more people, but if they’re interested, that would be quite helpful, as some of the story may actually take place in Scotland.
@daeus Wow, that’s tricky, too- you’d need a history expert. I know a bit about the…[Read more]
