Hesh
The relief of breathing fresh air once again came like a breath of fresh air. They must have had taken a wrong turn though, because instead of entering the guardhouse, they came out of the passage in a small courtyard overgrown with rose vines. He gazed up at the sky. A few distant clouds skittered across the sky like a…[Read more]

Feather
Rinzler wasn’t taking their companions too well. Feather could see it in his expression. She could have a talk with him later.
“Here we are,” said Hesh, gesturing to the door they’d come through. They exited to a clear sky.
Feather looked back. “You two are from different worlds than Rinzler and I are. What are you…[Read more]

Hesh
Hesh led the way back up the dim passage. With every step away from that door, he felt his heart grow a little lighter.
He could tell that Rinzler was still suspicious of him, but now mad as well for Hesh’s introduction of them to the cat. Hesh could handle Rinzler. In this place, they were going to need all the allies t…[Read more]

Rinzler and Feather
Rinzler eyed the cat-like creature in front of him. Great, he thought. Another creature to follow us around.
The cat yakked on and on, finally coming to a stop. “…I don’t even know your names. Okay, I’ll shut up now.” he finished.
Feather’s apparent new friend—Hesh—introduced them all before Rinzler coul…[Read more]

(Power, is Kent a leopard?)
Hesh
Hesh stepped back as a lithe form leaped, roaring, from the depthless darkness. “Light!” the creature… yelled? “Wonderful light!” The creature looked like a large, spotted cat, but spoke with the voice of a human. This day was only getting more bizarre.
Hesh eyed the cat warily, not sure whet…[Read more]

well, we have cows and a milk cow, dogs, chickens and cats, but my three other families of cousins have goats, a donkey, horses, sheep, ducks, and turkeys, as well as beef and milk cows. 🙂
Aww, thank you. Most the time I don’t feel like a very wonderful person lol
I think that’s all of us sometimes, heh.
That is odd, but so coo…[Read more]

Hesh
The door swung open with an ominous groan. Hesh could feel the darkness of beyond the door drawing them towards it like a maelström. A chill trickled down his spine. Whoever owned this castle was quite clearly not friendly.
“We going in there?” Rinzler asked, the lights on his odd clothes causing eerie shadows to dance like some…[Read more]

Zoe/Snow
Corvina had chosen the way that the group had gone. Zoe followed it eagerly, sometimes hurrying ahead so much that she had to return to Corvina because the girl stopped moving when she lost sight of Zoe.
Four people turned to five and a woodland creature, one she was unfamiliar with but smelled…[Read more]

Sofia
She knew she could have helped the men, and she’d almost offered, but she wasn’t sure yet whether they would trust her enough or whether she felt up to it yet. Her panic from the stairs had left her shaken and feeling oddly weak. And she didn’t like…[Read more]

@faith-q I love the names on both your stories! The chemistry family one sounds cool. Astatine is a genius name for a dog.

Feather and Rinzler
“See? He just openly admitted he came here while trying to steal something!” Rinzler whisper-hissed.
“Ssshh, Rinzler.” said Feather. “We don’t know his motivation. In his world, he might very well be the good guy. Until he does something really wrong, I choose to trust him.”
“The last guy you trusted like that…[Read more]

Hesh
Hesh listened, agape, as the crew meandered down the long, dark passage. He wondered if it was possible to literally talk someone’s ear off. In his line of work, people generally kept to themselves. Feather’s openness was… refreshing.
Hesh cleared his throat. “Well, to answers your first question…” He trailed off. Should he t…[Read more] -

Feather
“That’s kind of a cool name,” said Feather as Hesh introduced himself. “It sort of reminds me of the names from Rinzler’s world.” She walked down the hallway. “If this place is anything like the Sanctuary—a place in the world I come from—we should see more action once we get closer to the center.”
Unless we’re alone here, she…[Read more]

Sorry it took so long for me to respond! I was out.
Hesh
Hesh eyed the discs Rinzler wielded. He did not want to be on the wrong side of those. He listened to the pair’s harsh whispers. He felt his heart drop to his stomach. Could they trust him? He wouldn’t—couldn’t—trust himself. Betrayal haunted him like a shadow, following his every step…[Read more]

Rinzler slashed the door in two with one of his discs. He lowered his voice. “I don’t trust him, Feather. Not at all.”
“I don’t either.” Feather eyed the hallway as she stepped in. “But he’s the only other person we’ve seen here. We need to work together, at least for now.” She turned to the man, still behind them. “I told you my…[Read more]

He lifted his head. What in the world were they talking about? Starships? He had heard of ships and stars, but not starships.
The woman introduced herself and began to introduce the man, but cut her off. He was obviously distrustful.
He set his mouth with purpose. Clearly, neither him nor the two in front of him knew where they were. They…[Read more]

@godlyfantasy12 Aaack, Riven makes me so mad!! I feel so sorry for November now. (They kinda remind me of the characters Cassius and Keefe in the series Keeper of the Lost Cities.) Weird question, but where did you get the name November?? Please don’t tell me that’s more of Riven’s verbal abuse.

@e-m-trepke Here’s the next part.
Feather and Rinzler
“Are we not at one of the emperor’s estates?” the man asked.
“That’s nonsense.” said Rinzler. “We haven’t seen any troops around here. No starships either. Nowhere are there any Imperial symbols, nor is everything gray and boring. My friend here? Her husband’s ex-Empire. She knows what an…[Read more]
