My grandpa is a Vietnam veteran actually. He didn’t see any combat, but he did sleep through a hurricane.

I just played the flute and sang in our school Veteran’s Day Concert. It’s amazing how many served our country, and how real the war was to them.

It is hard to say much without knowing much of your book, but I do agree with what Sara said as far as openings…

I guess it depends on the reader, but personally, I like books that paint some of the picture in the first (and even second) chapter… even if it seem…
