@overcomer Thanks for the prompt!
I was so mad at him, waving his hands around like that, pretending like he loved me, and then BAM betrayal–short and swift. Straight into the lake. May as well have been shouting “Go jump in a lake!” Because that’s certainly what I did.
I ran after that ball as fast as I could; my feet digging into the ground…[Read more]

@hannah-krynicki I love that thought! I had never thought about the “savior” role that way before in the context of the pigs, but that is an awesome comparison and so true!

@hannah-krynicki I think you make some really great points, and bring up a great question that I think should be addressed–or at least mulled over. Not even political. To what extent could we make this into an allegory about the United States? And what is our place, as culture-sharpers, particularly as authors, in taking an active role in what…[Read more]

Loving the discussion that’s going on here!
I’m gonna go back to what somebody said a little bit earlier about Orwell interjecting a lot of his opinion into the book itself. This is 100% true, and what I think is really interesting is that he does a great job of disguising what a lot of times might end up being one really long, out-of-place rant…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy *breathes sigh of relief* And true!
Weak analogy was that characters and plot work the same way as forum posts and forum members. The forum members drive the post. 😛

@kate-flournoy I 100% apologize for hijacking this post that was originally very relevant and scholarly. But, maybe like characters drive the plot, people drive the thread? *weakly submits weak analogy*
@christi-eaton I can neither confirm nor deny your allegations. 😛 😀

@writefury — Awesome! I recognized the font from picmonkey ;D It’s one of my favorites! I sent the source on to Laurel. She may have to use a different one because licenses and stuff, but we’ll still give ya credit for the awesome idea. 😉

@writefury — I sent the image over to Laurel, and she loves it! She thinks it’d look great on a mug too. Here’s her question: is the illustration yours or is it copyrighted or what? If it’s copyrighted, we may have to make some changes before we can put it up in the store (‘cuz it’s a brilliant graphic!)– but you could totally work with Laurel on it. 🙂
