I REALLY like your tag lines! The synopsis is good too; my one suggestion would be to briefly mention why the main character and her friend are being sent off to this circus land. But great job! 😀

The reason the added twin would be a girl is because the “single” child is a girl and they could be identical twins that way (you can’t have different sex identical twins).
