I’ve never been to America so it’s been rather difficult for me to visit an American “Chinese” restaurant. But I’ve been to my fair share of over-commercialised Chinese/Thai/Korean/Japanese etc. food chains.

I tend to only like specific dishes from specific cuisines but my overall favourites are Chinese and Japanese food. It helps that Asian cuisines have a really wide variety of dishes to choose from since a lot of the cuisine varies based on different regions.

Where I am American cuisine is maligned as well. Lots of people will say they like Thai food, Korean food, Japanese food etc. but I’ve never met anyone who said they like American food. 😛

Ah, that’s the self-criticism talking, isn’t it?

FYI: My WIP is about a queen that falls from grace and goes into hiding… and does that by hiding in plain sight as a rising star in the local theatre scene and waging a propaganda war with her enemies. Ridiculous, yes, but I suppose whether it is lame or not is a matter of preference. 😛

For me, I will never get anything done if I sit down to do careful planning and plotting (e.g. I have planned out quite a few things for my adventure/fantasy story and written about 7 chapters but it’ll take forever to plan out the rest because it’s quite the sweeping epic). Well, maybe I’m just being too critical of myself. All part of being a writer. Once I get the scenes done, I’ll post them for review to see what you guys think.
