Hey, @dekreel!
I’ll try Veronica. I like drawing glasses! : )
In exchange, I’ve got a character named Brianna. She’s around fifteen, and I honestly have no idea how I want her to look, except that she has brown hair and wears either a simple tunic and pants or leather fantasy armor. Anything you do will be amazing–I just need some sort of…[Read more]

Greetings. I’m not sure if you’ve met me, although I’m a subscriber to your blog. I wanted to let you know that I love your blog (for some reason I can’t comment on your posts, so I’ll just mention it here).
I would offer you advice, but I have the same problem all the time. All I can say is, it sounds like you’re already doing really…[Read more]

@dekreel Whoops! I just now stumbled upon this conversation and realized there was a list of character questions I was supposed to fill out besides physical appearance.
So if it’s not too late…
1. Gabby (female)
2. Human
3. Um, let’s see…I come from a long line of warriors. My clan’s obsessed with fighting and honor and stuff, and I sorta…[Read more]

@dekreel I’d like to have medium-length, sandy-blonde hair (or blondish-brown, whatever you want to call it) that’s wavy with side-bangs, and blue eyes. Fifteen years old, average weight, a little shorter than average height.
Thanks!
Oh, by the way, I am a girl (I’m not sure if my username was clear about that, lol!) 😀

I almost forgot! War in the Wasteland by Douglas Bond is really good.

@warrioroftherealm Check out Robert Elmer! He wrote the Promise of Zion series, which is historical fiction about the Jews after WWII, another historical fiction series about Australia (which I haven’t read and I don’t know the title), and a sci fi trilogy called the Shadowside Trilogy (I think).
You might like Brian Davis’ books, too, although I…[Read more]

Hi, everyone!
I’m looking for input on character consistency. In every story (long or short) that I write, I like to have a character who’s generally optimistic and lighthearted, and who sometimes even provides the comic relief. However, a lot of my story plots tend to get more and more intense as they go. Does anybody have any advice for keeping…[Read more]

@Allison-grace Okay, gotcha. Here’s an idea of what I might do in that instance: since it’s not about your MC’s gender, but her maturity, I might throw a couple other female characters into the rescue party. That would make readers realize, “Oh, this isn’t a feminist issue about no girls allowed in the action; her parents and brother just don’t…[Read more]

@Allison-grace Before I try to offer help, I just want to ask a clarifying question. Is your main point to show that your MC is treated like a child because she is female, or for some other reason (for ex., her parents aren’t ready to let her face the world because she’s their “baby”, or some other reason like that)?

@allison-grace Wow, I love the idea of making dragons afraid of music! That’s really creative. And flaming arrows…that would be an awesome thing to add. Or, even better….flaming chairs!!! xD
Thanks for the suggestions! 😀
