@jenwriter17 Kay would jump into Niagara Falls. Not much air up there where the plane is flying.
Alex says the same.

@catwing @daughteroftheking @kaya-young @notawriter
Here’s another one I made for a character from my Superhero WIP…she’s one of my favorite characters, though I don’t yet know her as well as some of the others. 🙂

@jenwriter17 I know this a late response, but I have had this same “issue” (if you can call it that). 🙂 It has bothered me that I can’t get past a certain number of words for a story. What I’ve come to realize is that I just need to write what is necessary. If my story is finished in 30,000 words, so be it! And the next round of editi…[Read more]

There is some shuffling, then more silence.

@sam-kowal You actually counted the number of turtles in Daeus’ signature? Impressive! 😀
And @mnvalentine , I’m sorry I’m getting back so late: I was on hiatus. 😐

@mnvalentine I cannot read it as of right now because I have to go, but I just wanted to tell you that I’ll beta-read the first chapter for you and get back to you on this. 🙂 If I’m writing tomorrow, which I hope to be, I’ll read it. 😀 But I liked the

@jenwriter17 I think Daeus and Kate got it. Basically, make things more complex. A longer story, more in depth themes, more characters, conflicts, obstacles to overcome, and more live scenes. That being said, you can’t just tack that stuff on to a story that is short at its core. Otherwise the story will drag. Layer things on, and see how in depth…[Read more]

@itsastarrynight Thank you! @daeus Do you have a little time to give me some advise on this?

Ariel Ashira replied to the topic My Life is Novellas in the forum General Writing Discussions 8 years, 4 months ago
@jenwriter17 I guess I just describe every scene in detailed, sensory language, and I have been working on adding more subplots. I do struggle with creating complicated plots!

@daughteroftheking
Kay would rather relive it.
She refuses to tell me what it was though…Alexandria Evergreen (Alex) would rather talk about it.

@sarah-Anson I agree with @skredder @gh24682468999 @ariel-Ashira . Interview your character, write him in a different scene, flesh out your character.
But in edition something you could do for fun (though it will probably help) is to make a collage for him. I had to figure out somethings when I made my collages. Also got me excited about my book. 😋 -
Ariel Ashira replied to the topic MC Issues in the forum Characters 8 years, 4 months ago
@sarah-anson One thing that helps me when I am having a difficult time picturing and understanding one of my characters is to write out a bunch of questions about them. Like, what makes them cry? What makes them laugh? How do they react to different situations? How do they change from the beginning of the book to the end, and what makes…[Read more]
