@Writefury @Corissa-Maiden-of-Praise technically you’re both right! I did mean it as what Rosey guessed, but Eustace works too. 😀
@Emma-Flournoy, it’s ‘Just take what’s given and say goodbye.’

@Emma-flournoy Chriiiissss….. -headdesk- he’s one of the biggest things that needs revising. I did a lot of character development on him in the retrospect and, if it hadn’t been a serial story, he probably would have been deleted or replaced right near the beginning. A lot of the time I just forgot about him and was just sort of ‘oh yeah, and…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy So the basic reason for the irreconcilable goods/evils is because of human nature. When humans see a choice they choose the best one. The one that is good. So that’s a problem when the character sees two choices–one good and one bad. They will choose the good one. It’s so simple and that’s a problem for stories. That’s why they…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy I can say that he was a bad person. But not a bad king. He did some pretty good stuff (I mentioned a few in the previous post). Overall, he was okay. Kind of like our most recent (US) presidents. They lean a little toward bad but overall they weren’t pure evil (think Kim Jong-Un).
But you’re right. We drifted so far from the…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Well, that’s just the thing, it is dragonian intelligence. Lost among mountains and mountains of scrolls. Sorry.

@Dragon-Snapper Ah. I shall inquire no further. Wouldn’t do to get on a dragon’s bad side, would it, O Chiefest and Greatest of Calamities?

@sarah-h Good for you! It is a great movie. I think the strongest asset of the movie is the great characters (combined with great performances). Because the singing is less so. Watch the Broadway 25th Anniversary version. Singing is so much better.

@emma-flournoy Just a quick one because I have to go soon. Let me start from the bottom.
The Bible says that “Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.” That kind of implies that he did have a heart for God (note the word fully). So that’s why I have the tolerant view of him. I…[Read more]

So this is a fun game my brother and I play a lot at home. One person says a random line from a movie or book and another person has to ‘quote it’ or give the source of the quote. The person who gets it right gets to do their own. So here’s the first one.
“I would never have dreamt of depriving you of your moment of triumph. Alas, a moment was…[Read more]

@kate-flournoy This is kind of like, really cool to be on at the same time as someone else. It’s like I’m having a real conversation.
Everyone else, is there anyone in your family that you have based a character off of? My only one would be my cousin’s cousin, Hans, who is 15. He’s a guy who would try and jump a fence to see if he could and end…[Read more]

@Dragon-Snapper um… keep it to myself. 😛 Trying to explain awesome story ideas or plot twists to non writers just never really works. If it’s just too amazing to not tell anyone, I’ll tell @Emma-Flournoy because even though she’s not a writer herself she understands. 😉 I also write it down in my little pocket notebook. I have at least three…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Yes it tasted very bad.
You know you’re a tired writer when you start writing a short story for your sister at eleven oclock at night about a girl who finds a trunk of treasures in her grandmother’s house and you wake up ontop of your story and it reads (in very scribbly writing) “Yes of course dear. Look around in the attic if you…[Read more]

@emma-flournoy Late reply. Sorry.
I think Solomon was that way because of David. I don’t know of any biblical support for this, but the Bible does record instances where someone’s sin was so bad that their kids suffered because of it. I think Solomon suffered in that way. Not being heretical. That’s just my personal opinion.
From a more biblical…[Read more]
