Okay, I’m starting to make some refinements to my ideas, starting with some guiding principles. That involves pinpointing a one-sentence premise and pinpointing the theme of the story, as well as thinking about the arc I want Alan to go through. This is supposed to be a document that I can reference to…[Read more]

The pocket thing. XD
Leo
The lorry rolled to a squealing stop. It’s doors swooshed open. Time to move.
Leo braced against the back of the seat in front of him as he helped Rory to his feet. Then they shuffled down the aisle with Silvia and Quincy close behind. The steps squeaked under their feet.
Students filled the sidewalk…[Read more]

What are your thoughts on catholic reconciliation? (For those who don’t know, reconciliation is where catholics go (supposed to be at least every month) to confess their sins. And then they are forgiven for them.) And what questions do you have. (That definition is the most simple version, there is more to it.)
I don’t think i…[Read more]

Hello!
So, I’m currently gearing up to write a fight scene (I’ll post it on here when I’m done) and I’ve never been happy with my previous fight scenes, so I researched a little deeper into the specific type of battle I wanted this to be. While attempting to write the probable failure of a fight scene, I got the idea to create this topic on…[Read more]

I also thought unions burning peoples eyes was a myth until my friend and I were cooking stir fry and she started tearing up really bad while cutting them. 🤣
It’s hard to cook when you anthropomorphize your vegetables.

Thanks!
wait… your hand cramps from writing? Mine never did that. I thought it was a myth.
I have a bad habit of gripping and pressing on things to far. Since I’ve done so much drawing, and have trained myself to do lighter strokes there, it’s not an issue, but I need to train myself to do it with writing as well.

Hmm… That is a good point about Elsa’s powers. As far as we can tell once she learns to control her powers, she just seems to will things to happen.
I think I do want to stick with the idea for Alan having visions of magic capturing him. I think this adds a thematic element that will make Alan’s struggle more real without…[Read more]

My progress today. I wrote down on sticky notes everything I knew so far about the plot.
Pink notes are what I already had planned from Alan’s perspective when I started this. Green is Martha’s Perspective. The blue and yellow at the top are some alternative ideas I had for the beginning. All the…[Read more] -

Yes, I have seen Frozen, and I think I know what you are getting at. Elsa, like Alan, worries about her powers and hurting others with them but needs to learn not to push others away. If you go back to when you were asking us which characters are like our own, Whaley, you will notice Elsa was one of the characters…[Read more]

I had a feeling I needed to hear this. Thank you for the advice, I really do need to listen to it. I’m a bit of a perfectionist so it’s going to be hard to post stuff as it is, but thank you again.

Hey ladies! I’m planning to do a few writing sprints this afternoon and was wondering if y’all wanted to join me. (For anyone else reading this, I only tagged those three because I know they’re familiar with sprinting, but if you want to join, go right ahead!!)

Awesome, good to know. I think I do mention very vaguely later that they won the game, but you’re right, I don’t think any reader will make the connection.
So, that was my bad 😅 You’ve read all the chapters I’ve posted. For some reason, my brain didn’t make the connection that you had read them all because I read this:

I doubt I’m any help right now.
No worries. I usually write without outlining as well. I’m just trying to speed up my writing and thought I would give outlining a try to see if it would help me out.
My “outlining” consists of writing random notes all over the margins of my paper as I write and forgetting about them.…

Everette (I think) asks if Sara knows who Jesus was. Now, unless you have a very different theology than I do, I believe it’s who Jesus “is” not “was”.
Good point—I’ll have to change that.

Hey! Sorry I missed that. I’d love to another time, but I’m also out of town and don’t have my laptop, plus I’m with family so I can’t really sneak away right now.I’m glad it went well! <3
No worries! I totally understand! <3
Ooh, sprints! If you do any more of these, I’d love to be tagged. 🙂
Oh my word… 🤦🏻♀️ You just reminded me that like over half of us on here know what sprints are because of CWW. My badddd 😂
🤣🤣🤣I think there’s even a topic for it somewhere. XD
Yeah I think you’re right 🤣 We’ll have to dig that up and revive it!!!
