Hey, I follow this writer on YouTube who makes videos with writing advice. A lot of the methods I used to structure my second book come from him. I think you might find his latest video helpful. It’s on writing side characters:
Just a warning, he will occasionally reference books…[Read more]

That’s good that they’ll be more distinguishable— but I hope that doesn’t mean they’ll drift apart.
Yeah xD It would be interesting. It was a sweet scene though.

I liked the transition right at the scene break before Liesl and Roland got married. And how you showed Leon’s state of mind after the fever and how Julian didn’t understand it.

No, I was just on my phone already and I saw the notification pop up.

That’s amazing!!! Congratulations!
So, what you are planning to use that time for?
What kind of math are you still doing?
I used to really, really dislike math…(that’s a weak area in our family)…but this year I started Saxon Math. Surprisingly and thankfully, I’m loving it! I think I didn’t like the way math was being…[Read more]

@ellette-giselle @theducktator I haven’t done anything…*yet*
But my research the other day was:
“how long can someone be in solitary without going insane”
“how long can someone go without food”
“signs that someone hasn’t eaten in two days”🤠
-
Oh no. Are you shutting him in a coffin or something???
-
@theducktator more like…uh…captured by the Soviets
-
Not the Soviets!!! Poor Riker.
-
he’ll be fine
*mostly*
-
-
Riker is soooo unfine… *gives him stuffie*
-
Ahhh. That makes sense.
Hey! NO WAY!
I have characters about to get tangled with the soviets too!The solitary thing really depends on the person, but I know there’s an average time range.
Yeah, he’ll be totally fine. No problem.

@elishavet-pidyon I’m glad you like it. And it means so much that other historical fictions make you think of my characters😭🫶
Note: I haven’t killed them in my head cannons yet. I leave that to the resident author who shall remain nameless, Ellette.
Nah, I haven’t killed any of them in my mind because I don’t think…

Yeah, but if there’s a lot of plants, chances are there’s a lot of animals surviving off of that, which means the wolves shouldn’t be having much trouble finding food.
You could just take out this sentence:
The wolves growled, but they were hungry, and they decided the threat was worth the potential kill. The winter had been…

Ugh. I kingdom pen didn’t let me know about the section yesterday and I forgot to check.
Question out of curiosity: How do you decide if the journal entries you share should be from either Leon or Julian? Some authors may try to give an even number for both characters, but you seem to have some sort of method for choosing…[Read more]

Oh no!!! Not Leon!!
Good section. One thing I noticed was that you mentioned that the people were able to find a lot of food during the winter… then you said that it had been hard on everyone, especially the wolves. I get that they eat meat and not plants, but it was kind of confusing.
otherwise, good job! 😬

Dun dun duuuunnnn.
Nice! I really liked those last few chapters!
Notes…
Poor Julian. He’s a lonely little guy.
Night was falling fast and there was no shelter. They were hemmed in by high cliffs on either side, and the wind shrieked down the path.
This section made me think of Carahadras. Brrrrrrr.

Ooof, yeah, no GOT. I do like the soundtrack to that series, but I would never read/watch it.
Thanks again!
